Its like my 5th or 6th time. Each other time we have stayed in the Fort Wilderness campground but this time we are staying in the all star movie resort.
We will see how it goes. just payed for everything. Hotel, tickets and meals. Wife is happy, so that counts a lot. Its kind of in celebration of our 20th wedding anniversary. I wish it could be Suffolk England but the times being as they are, this will have to do. I found that the value hotel was a cheap as the campground, so why pull the camper? Still, the campground is very mellow and has its own beach and petting zoo and marina, outdoor cinema and all. We will see how this "value" resort compares.

Thats great. I've always wanted to go to Disney world. I've heard that it is VERY expensive there. When you get there, make sure to take many pictures and post them here for all of us to see.

Oh.. and stay away from thay guy Mickey. ( You know, the one with the Big Ears). I've head some very strange things about him

Has anyone been to both Disney World and Disney Land? Which is better?

I still enjoy going to Disney World. The food and wine are great. :techman:

Yes, if you ain't been there you can't say. You would most probably love it. The Aerosmith rockin roller coaster would fit you.

I have heard that Disney land is very small much like the magic kingdom and so the size of the park thing would favor WDW. It is awesome to be going down a 5 lane highway for several miles and realize that you are actually already in the park. I love the "goofy-fied" speed limit signs on the highway, if you noticed them.

Less than 3 weeks now until we leave. Its been a while and I am a gimp now and wear a brace so we will see how it goes. I know its going to be hot as hell there. Lots of screaming kids too. We gonna be at the all star movies resort. The Value resort. A whole whopping 275 square foot room

Less than 2 weeks now till we leave for Disney. Got to remember to ask my dad to come up and feet the varmints while we are away that week. Need to gas up the truck and check it over for the 600 mile drive. My supercab ranger gets 30mpg highway if driven easy and a 20 gallon fuel tank. I could make it all the way on one tank with no stopping :P The bride would never go for this though. The hotel has no fridge in the room unless you rent one for $$, but I am going to see about bringing my own little fridge if its allowed. Beer prices are outrageous at disney, plus I got some other things I want to keep cold in the room. I hope this is relaxing and the wife and I don't end up in a vacation argument. I just want to relax. Not happy about this all star resort having bus only transit, at the campground we could take a bus or a boat over to the MK and then the monorail to epcot. I like having options. I know we are going to be dying from the heat. Its only got up into the high 70s a couple days here, so that motel A/C will get a work out.

Oh and I feel that every child should experience Disney world. I wish I had as a child. My first visit was in 1996 and this will be our 6th or 7th time. I love the place and we don't have any kids. I wish we had some to take.

    forcast for today.
Looks more like England than NC for mid may. The heat in Orlando is going to be oppresive, I am afraid. Plenty of fluids to be drank.

    I wish I could go.

Actually, I have been thinking of planning a trip with some friends. It has been a long time since I was there.

Wife just made some reservations at the dining establishments and they are all booked up. We did not get all that we wanted, but its short notice, 10 days and counting.

Not really. After quite a long drought we are now getting more rain than we know what to do with. The humidity is up there, but then the rains start...and.they.dont.stop. So the temps havent been that bad at all. But you will get soaked. As for staying at Disney, its not that expensive if you do it right. Ft. Wilderness , where you can rent a "cabin" (I.e. a trailer made up to look like a log cabin) if you dont have a camper is probably the cheapest. But the value resorts, cost wise, on property are on par or maybe in some cases a bit cheaper than you can get off property. Our favorite place to say is the Port Orleans hotel complex for both amenity and sentimental reasons (its where our middle daughter got started).

It was two bucks more a night to stay in the "All star music" resort per night than a camp site at Fort Wilderness. We chose to pay the extra 2 bucks and not tow the camper or else we would have camped. We will see how it goes, with all the screaming kids and small hotel rooms we might still wish we were in the campground. Would be nice to see you again, man. Its been over 4 years since that meet up in orlando for the trek convention.

I did the "Mission to Mars" ride at EPCOT in 2003. It was pretty fun.

I've been to Disney World twice in my lifetime..the second time I got stomped on by Captain Hook! :jayzus: It's a lot of fun but it's also a lot of stomping around in hot weather!

I got to go when I was like 15. I liked it. My favorite place was Epcot, without a doubt. The only bad thing about going was the fact that I was traveling with my stepmother and her daughter. That was a nightmare. Other than that I had a great time.

One of my friends from high school just got married and her honeymoon was in Disneyworld....she just got back Sunday. :)

What's wrong UA? No one is too old for Mickey Mouse.

Actually...I can't stand Mickey Mouse...I hate the majority of those characters just cause they've become a universal symbol that everyone recognizes....I think they're overrated...

But I enjoyed Disneyworld fairly well. I didn't like Magical Kingdom....cause it's focused around the characters...I liked Epcot. :)

    Well, let's see:

    Airline travel.
    Conveyance to the park.
Presumably distant, inconvenient parking, possibly involving a shuttle bus or some such bullshit.
    Everything overpriced.
Standing in long lines under a hot sun, surrounded by shrieking children and wage slaves in grotesque costumes, all to take a bunch of rides to nowhere.

We are staying in the park, no parking or hunting the car, no trams, just regular air conditioned buses from the hotel to the parks. They have fast pass, so no standing in lines unless you just want to. Plenty of sights to see, no other theme park even compares. I am off early in the morning for a week and so I wish everyone a great week and hope good things come your way. :)

Just now back from Disney. Man that is always a busy time but take the mind off all the bullshit of life. I am off tomorrow for a day of being lazy before work. made it back in 7 hours and 40 minutes, not bad for 600 miles. Lots of fun and pictures.
