Honestly, this is not news to anyone who's been paying attention. Dayton mentioned it quite awhile ago, most likely in his own Blue Room thread.

Dayton is far too candid for his own good, aside from anything else.

    Stay Classy!

I certainly hope his wife isn't internet savvy and/or aware of Wordforge. It would probably be painful for her to find a bunch of people talking about her very personal and painful business. Like she needs to feel humiliation on top of what happened to her.

Since she obviously forgave him long ago, I doubt she would appreciate the piling on going on here. Anyone who knows them could find this based on his name and make this public knowledge in their real life.

Really, Dayton, you shouldn't have posted anything about this outside a hidden forum for not other reason than to spare your wife embarrassment.

People that are still embarassed from something that happened more than a decade ago need to get a life.

You know...I try to be understanding and I do believe people can and do change and I also try to give folks the benefit of the doubt.

But with this one remark you show just how much you don't get what you've done. You have no idea just how humiliating and horrifying it is to be hit by someone you love. It is a moment that makes a person feel completely worthless, small and helpless...no matter how strong they really are. And when the person you love and trust the most does it...your whole world turns upside down.

Your utter dismissal of what you've done to your wife is, frankly, awful. I doubt it's a moment she can look back on that with pride, for God's sake. You are the one who should really be embarrassed....for life...for succumbing to such an evil deed and thinking it as little more than dropping a glass or something.

Of course, what he probably isn't telling us is that he slapped her 11 years ago in anger and she turned around and beat his ass until the very idea of doing it again makes him piss himself.

Well I'm not. Get over it.

And yes, you clowns are bitching and moaning over something that happened at ELEVEN YEARS ago.

Hell, it wasn't even a big deal to my wife eleven years ago. Much less today.

Oh cut the melodramatic BS. She cried. I cried. We talked. We argued. She cried. I cried.

    We got beyond it.

You boys are getting all worked up about nothing. All in order to defend your beliefs in immoral sexual practices.

Well, I think you are kind of an ass to be so dismissive of it...no matter how long ago it was.

And you can't accuse me of trying to protect my love of sexual immorality. :bailey:

    WTF is all this then?

I must have missed something in some other thread.

To the general point: Anything that happened between two people in love that ends with "she cried, I cried, we talked" is something that the offending party OUGHT to be embarrassed about for life. Whether it's violence, or theft, or adultery, or whatever - if it was serious enough to reduce the relationship to tears then it's serious enough to be painful and embarassing 50 years later.

that doesn't mean their can't be forgiveness or healing....but it's not to be dismissed like the time you burnt your spouse's toast either.

You're making a false equivalence, or more accurately, you are assigning the wrong values to the items of comparison. Pre-marital sex is not immoral. Hitting somebody when it isn't self-defense is immoral.

Dayton once slapped his wife. It happened many years ago, and was something that was a big deal back in the TNZ days and then was moved on from as a thing to talk about due to the time that had passed. In another thread Dayton was casting judgement on those who have premarital sex and expressed the opinion that physically assaulting your partner after marriage is morally superior to sleeping with them before marriage. That's what has most people going WTF.

Or more likely, he's lying like most people usually do when caught. Remember "To Catch A Predator", all the pedophiles caught said they never did anything like this before, yet it's clear they will never stop.

Wife beaters are like drug addicts and pedophiles. If they tell you they only did it once, don't believe them.

Most western religions, including Christianity which is far and away the most important say otherwise.

But in regards to the rest, fine whatever. I'm the most evil person in the world because of something that happened 11 years ago. My concession.

I swear sometimes you idiots are worse than those idiot moderators at the TrekBBS who for YEARS bitched and moaned about my comment about "using the moderators as weapons".

Which I believe is a perfectly legitimate strategy. Lawyers use the letter of the law to advance their interests (their clients) all the time and people accept that.
