My mistake. This is a boring, boring thread. It is so boring that it only has over 300 posts. In fact the only larger thread that is active in the Red Room right now is over a year and a half old. And that isn't much larger than this week old thread. :marathon:

And the longest threads on WF, by far, are game threads.

You are confusing "interesting" with "easy to post in."

But of course, your real goal was simply to complain about Wordforge. Why hang around here, if the place bothers you so much?

    Well, there's always your board.

    Y'know, the Volpone board?

    The board for Volpones?

    'Member that?

    The Volpone board you made?

    Eh?

Oh, my mistake. People often spend a lot of time posting in boring threads. I apologize for not picking up on that. And yes, not that I think about it, the Emperor's new clothes are very nice. :)

Because no one will follow him anywhere else.

It forces him to slither back here and pretend he didn't "make a stand" for the 12th time that failed and try to force this board to the way he wants it instead.

Besides, he doesn't really want the responsibility because he knows it isn't fun to be the owner and under fire all the time.

The board has been a little quiet lately, but I think there has been more interesting discussion.

Re: The Most Interesting Thread Currently at Wordforge

 Wow. There's a lot of butthurt and defensiveness here, for a throwaway one-liner I made just for laughs. I haven't seen this much outrage since the time over at TBBS when I pointed out that Sulu must've sucked some cock to get that helicopter in ST:IV. And we all know how that turned out. Within a year, George Takei came out of the closet. I must've hit a little too close to home.

Volpone's got a point. It's great that we've moved back towards threads about politics and news and such (versus half the threads being about negreps and butthurt), but this and the Dayton troll thread are two of the longest right now.

And that is nothing new, and has nothing to do with "Wordforge is dying" or the change to rep or anything. "Gossip" has always been more popular than debate, not only on Wordforge but anywhere.

So he doesn't have a point, because his "point" is to try to make people think that because you can't take points away from someone's rep score by neg-repping them any more, that has somehow destroyed Wordforge. And he is wrong, period.

Rep has been a toy since it was implemented for some early WF birthday party. It's rather sad that supposedly adult men like Volpy seem to see it as the only thing worth coming here for. Almost as sad as only coming here to complain about WF instead of actively trying to make it better. Because, you know, Volpy might be a brainless right wing zombie but at least he's mostly coherent. That's worth something these days.

Async, you really, REALLY seem to have a hard-on about rep here. I don't even have my rep turned on. I don't recall saying anything about rep in the thread that seems to have everyone so upset. Tell me, just WHO is worried about rep, anyway? :marathon:

Yeah, we've always had the occasional gossip/troll thread go on for much longer than the original subject warranted. Blaming the latest example on the modification of the rep system is like blaming the latest warming segment of the global climate cycle on the human race's activities. :diacanu:

Ya know, I was against the change at first, but I fail to see how taking negreps changes anyone's ability to cuss, troll, flame or pretty much do any of the things that we've been able to do over the past ten years. :marathon:

I mean, yeah it was neutered, but I see no point in continuing to :dayton: off about it. In the long run, gaining back long-time posters like Gul and Aurora and a couple others who have been MIA for years was worth the trade-off, IMO.

I also find the board a bit more balanced these days. There was a time when it was roughly one-third left, one-third right and one-third libertarian. But for a while there is was becoming pretty right-leaning, as left-leaning posters either left of didn't bother to post much. But with the worst offenders for trying to drive off left-leaning posters busy pouting because they can't "hurt" them with neg-reps any more, I am finding some very good (and not so good, too, it must be admitted -- just like what we get from the right) input from the left. It's back to being more like the one-third, one-third, one-third that it used to be. I like that much better! :techman:

Fuck you. There was a time when we kept liberals in chains and rode them around like ponies. And anyone who says otherwise is practicing revisionism at its finest. And a pedophile. But mostly a pedophile.

I see where you're going with this. We should totally trade Hood for Linda! Or maybe some sort of shared custody agreement with separate visitation schedules? I wish I knew how to get in touch with her, but then if I had a RL connection, I wouldn't need her to be back at Wordforge, because I'd get to enjoy her sexy smart self regardless.

No, I wouldn't trade Hood for Linda. Not then and not now.

I understand why she left, even if I find it unreasonable personally. But sometimes time can bring perspective and maybe if she knew she was still missed and wanted here, she would rethink her personal boycott.

But honestly, it's probably a very thin hope.

And yet I have and continue to complain about the change because there are posts some people have made that frankly deserve it. So now we can't neg someone for say, oh, I don't know, posting a completely tasteless image of someone's foot rotting off. And frankly, all this talk of people being run off because of their rep score comes off as pathetic. Rep does not in any way affect how someone can post, only in how they can give rep. When I first started posting here, I was negged quite a bit because one of the first things I did here was make 9/11 jokes. Hell, I was in the red for quite a while, but did I whine about it and leave? :bailey:
