Dayton has a point here, though it doesn't help him as much as he thinks. Within the strata of education, you will find some mid-tier, large research universities that delegate the teaching to people like takahuano. The "professors" at Dayton's college probably will do the students a better service, if for no other reason than seasoning. But then there are the top tier research universities, where the faculty is much larger, and real professors who are leaders in their field teach small classes. I was in seminar classes in undergrad with the men and women who had literally written the definitive articles on the subject matter. It sounds like your experience was similar. Dayton might not know about such schools.

What someone did was in regards to what I posted at Wordforge regarding the terrorist guy who blew up a Cuban airliner IIRC during the Cold War.

They sent a copy of what I posted to my principal (who already did not like me at all) at that time and claimed to be a parent.

I accused Rick Deckard (Henry Hill) of doing it as the "parent" used virtually IDENTICAL language in criticizing my post that Rick had.

I scanned a copy and sent it to the moderators here and they agreed that I was telling the truth when I stated someone from Wordforge must have done it.

I publicly recanted my accusation against Rick and apologized to him when I realized I had no proof whatsoever and people here assured me that it "wasn't Rick's style".

We all agreed that a "parent" from my small community (at that time) just stumbling over that particular post of mine out of thousands online was extremely unlikely.

Unfortunately you've repeated the accusation against me since, despite your apology.

He always mentions you whenever the incident is discussed. I can't imagine he's so stupid as to not realize this is a continued accusation.

So, twice?!? Two times on two separate boards you have been a target of someone contacting your employer?

I would say that I hoped you'd learned your lesson about putting too much info out there, but ... I'm sure I've put out just as much info and no one's every contacted my employer, nor threatened to do so.

No. No one to my knowledge at the TrekBBS ever attempted to contact an employer of mine.

It would've been difficult anyway as for much of that time (nearly two years) I was unemployed aside from some random consulting work.

In regards to Rick above, I'm sorry you regard it as a continuing accusation. In my opinion, a proper recounting of the incident must include my suspicions, pubic accusation, and public apology.

In the future, if asked about the incident I'll avoid using your name here.

You made the accusation directly in the last number of weeks in response to my highlighting your support for the terrorism attacks on the passenger jets again. It isn't just something I'm inferring from your mentioning my name in connection with your initial suspicions.

If you are going to continually make the obviously false claim that I support terrorism (aside from a one time only tactic to hurt the communists) then I'm going to continue referring to my suspicions of you.

Then your apology wasn't genuine, and your accusation is an underhand tactic intended to prevent me from confronting your outrageous views, in line with your stated desire to use board rules to silence your opponents.

If the accusation was false and given that I've apologized for it, then logically there is no reason that "Rick" cannot confront my "outrageous views" as he sees them.

But if Rick did indeed contact my principal at that time (and only he can say if he did or not for certain) then the fact that the accusation is true would indeed work to prevent him from confronting my "outrageous views" as his repeatedly bringing them up would risk exposure (and the consensus Wordforge policy of permabanning).

Thus, by avoiding the subject and admitting that he is avoiding the subject because of fear of the accusation, Rick is effectively admitting that the initial accusation that he contacted my principal was accurate.

Rick hasn't stopped confronting your outrageous views, therefore, he isn't afraid of anything you have to say.

Dayton, we all contacted your employer. Every single one of us.

We all got together on Havenbbs and said, geez, let's teach this fucker a lesson and save our youth from being "educated" by him.

After several drafts of emails, we finally agreed upon the best one. We even gave it a name, though by telling you the name it would reveal too much personal information. We found that ironic.

And then we all, collectively, sent the email to your principal and awaited the response. And there was a response. And it was good.

And we rejoiced in the trouble we had caused.

But...for the record...RickDeckard was not invited into this secret cabal so he had nothing to do with it. Sorry Rick for all the trouble this has caused you.

But if you want to know who contributed the most to that situation so as to know where to lay blame I'll tell you.
