Not really. We know his name, the town he lives in, a few family members' names, and where he works. If that were all it took, you could commit identity theft with just a phone book.
Along with his birth date, birth place, his parent's names, his family history, his places of employment... that's enough to get started on and to get his SSN, which can be used to get pretty much anything else.
It appears that a grand total to two executives for firms you've probably never heard of, went to prison over the sub-prime thing.
Why is an assignment to general population an automatic death sentence according to @Dayton3? If that were true there would be scarcely a prisoner left alive after they all got through with killing each other.
Victimless "crimes" are not crimes in a sane society. That said, financial crimes are not victimless.
I agree with you entirely on that, I was under the impression that Dayton would have supported strict penalties for things like drug use, happy for him to have stated I was incorrect on that.
That's the thing that scares me. I posted stuff on a forum I thought was safe but it was later bought by a vindictive asshats. All you can do is put a credit lock on your social security number, not tell more information, and store up the info on the asshats you think might move against you. That way you can can get mutually assured destruction. The good news is it is easy to find the fuckers so if they move against you then you can move against them. Once you have names, old living locations, and old phone numbers it isn't hard.
The irony of this post is the author of it recently threatened to contact someone's employer over a post they disagreed with.
I agree with Evenflow - white collar, blue collar it doesn't matter. Fit them all with a rope collar and drop the trapdoor. If taking someone's life savings doesn't really harm them, then try it out. Give me a call when you are nearing your golden years and I'll take all your money off your hands. No big deal, right? You can always replace it. That and factor in rich people can afford better lawyers so of course their length of time in prison and the conditions under which they will serve will never be comparable to the average Joe. Justice can indeed be bought - it is after all an industry. This is one area in which our shining example of Democracy isn't special or any better than any other country. Some folks are indeed above the law.
It isn't a death sentence for most. Because MOST gp inmates tend to be young and reasonably fit when they go in. But you know full well that an older, richer guy is going to be preyed upon in prison.
Being in the General Population isn't necessarily a Death Sentence for older, White-collar criminals. It *IS*, however, a likely Butt-Rape sentence. Which seems fitting and acceptable to me....
Meh. They could probably lawyer their way out of that, literally. "Hey, guys? I know people. Let me go and I can put you in touch with a $1,500-an-hour attorney at my club who'll handle your appeal pro bono."
^Coupla things about that article. One, convicted felons are more comfortable with the truth than Madoff’s attorney. Second, a prison in Butner, NC? Really?
My point being that if the sentence does not specify that the guilty person be subjected to sexual assault while in prison then the state is obligated to prevent it.
That is ridiculous. And no someone running for office saying anything to that effect doesn't make it different no matter the party. I still can't understand why people elevate people who take others money over those who endanger or take a persons life. seems like radically misplaced priorities to me.
And I can't understand why someone wants to withhold rights from others simply because who they love.
If you love a 13 year old girl or boy then I'm against your right to express that love in a carnal fashion as well even if the feelings are mutual Ed. I'm hoping you would be against that as well.
You're using an example that is illegal in every state in the U.S. as well as most civilized countries since those laws follow the principle that children under a certain age are incapable of giving consent to something they do fully understand or are mature enough to comprehend.
Of course I am. Are you saying that child molesting should not be illegal? Your statement had nothing about consent in it. Repeating what you posted above withhold rights from others simply because who they love. Bolding and underlining mine. Original thoughts yours.
Ah, we made it to page 2 before the gays = pedophiles shit crept in. I was betting on page 3, but, there you go....
