I posted a link to the book Garamet. And the approximate location of the account.

If I had it in front of me I could cite the page number that Rick wants so bad.

Why lie about something that is literally in black and white on a page of a book that was heavily reviewed and still available.

Yeah, still waiting on the page citation too. Because there's at least a 50% chance that, an absurd reach though it is, Dayton made that story up.

How does any of that create your delusion that Sagan prevented a manned trip to Mars? You're credibility is frankly very much non-existent. You would do well to give a bit more verifiable information to back your theory.

Imagine if Dayton's bullshit story were actually true? What would it say about Reagan?

Actually, Sagan opposed nuclear weapons and was arrested at least once protesting at a nuclear weapons test site.

I think he opposed the Reagan build up in conventional weapons as well.

And he opposed the 1991 Gulf War (though that came after Reagan)

    It is possible.

If I had accepted my poli sci professor's proposal of a threesome with her and her daughter instead of running away like a little bitch, the US and Canada would all be one big country by now.

None of which have anything to do with his unwavering support of a manned Mars mission.

    You need to stop lying.

Does not change the fact that his earlier arrogant disrespect for President Reagan killed hopes of a combined manned mission to Mars.

In the real world, being disrespectful to people you disagree with costs you.

People take things too personally. They should be more like the relationship between Tip O'Neill and Ronald Reagan. I think it was liberal Chris Matthews who recently wrote a book about O'Neill and Reagan who described how they worked together despite being opposed to each other in almost everything political and policy wise.

Don't take what another person believes personally. How hard is that to understand

Ohhhh, okay, okay, I see what's happening.

Dayton thinks everyone else is as petty, child-minded, and vindictive as him.

    No, Dayton, you have problems.
    You're not normal.
    Normal isn't you.
"The real world", doesn't include you.
You have to learn to accept that.

    Believe what you want.

I still see no reason for taking things personally and launching personal attacks because you do not agree with what someone believes.

This is something I've been maintaining for years.

Why can't people remain courteous instead of hurl insults and invective?

I've found other people here have beliefs that I find offensive and you don't hear me insulting people (except in retaliation).

Shortly after he makes the simulated walk to and from the grocery store.

Gotta say, love the turn this thread has made. We need to push Dayton to defend his bullshit more often. It's hilarious when he reveals the underlying thought process.

For one, I don't have my book with me. It is about three hours away. I do not have the means to store thousands of books and magazines in the house I live in now.

Nor would my wife let me even if we did.

You need to keep that one handy, since you're hellbent on repeating your lie every time Sagan's name is mentioned.

If I cite the exact page and then repeat word for word the relevant section, will you stop your bitchin?

    Good lord Garamet?

What is so hard to believe about Sagan and Druyan snubbing the Reagan's because they did not like his policies and then Reagan going cold to the idea of a manned Mission to Mars when it was mentioned it was Sagan's idea?

Sadly, it's not hard to believe that Reagan would be such a dipshit. Nevertheless, you've offered no proof that Reagan said "I'd send men to Mars, but Sagan wants it, so fuck him.". You haven't even offered to offer proof. Because you don't have it.

    He didn't say that.

And again, what makes it hard to believe?

Yeah, I'll dig it out, cite the page and repeat the relevant material.

Of course I have an idea how most of you will react even once I find and post the material assuming you believe it.
