Happy Memorial Day Everyone! I sincerely thank everyone who has served in our military regardless of whether you saw the front lines or not. If you were willing to join and risk your life for mine and others freedom, you have much bigger balls than I and for that, I thank you all. I don't care about your political beliefs or whether you believe the fight was right or not, you all deserve praise. My grandpa fought in WW2 and my father guarded the Berlin wall. I was the pussy in the family and opted out of the military. May God (yeah I said it) bless you all. This is my favorite patriotic song and I wish it were the national anthem. Every time I tear up.
Piss off. The vast majority enlist because they weren't able to hack it as students (same as police officers) and had no other choices in life. And the idea that every Tom, Dick & Jane who enlists ends up risking their lives to defend our "freedoms" is stupid. Our freedoms aren't at risk because of anything happening in Iraq or Afghanistan. Try sending the National Guard to Wall Street to arrest those crooks if you want to do something for the American people.

Sadly, yes. Is it just me or has the trolling on Wf become increasingly disconnected from the debate? It used to be that I thought I'd miss parts of the conversation by ignoring the obvious trolls. Lately, I'm suspecting the conversation might be easier to follow if I did.

For once, I actually agree with Fleshlight. Most joined to escape some shitty situation at home, myself included, not to play hero. I don't want the accolades. It's a job to me and a way to feed and clothe myself. I don't even bother explaining or discussing the assbackwards things to my mom anymore because she says some variation of "well when you move up,you can change things" or "you're doing an honorable thing." Noneof that fixes stupid or changes the fact thay my life has not been mine for four years. That being said, I have no use for tje idiot bleeding heart liberals that are too stupid to realize that out strong military presence is why they can sleep at night without worry of their daughters being kidnapped from school into trafficking or being dissappeared for speaking out against that Republican President they loath so much.
