Age of consent is irrelevant in many states. In such states it's illegal for teachers to have sex with students of any age. The kid could have been 18 and they would still be in trouble.
I was once of the mindset that a teenage boy who could have sex with a beautiful teacher was extremely lucky. I have come to believe that it is just as wrong and just as predatory for an adult woman to seduce a teenage boy as would be the reverse.
It varies by state, for most it is sixteen, but some are 17 and even 18. These two should be fired, but not arrested. Louisiana should update their code to reflect the fact that 16 year olds have sex.

And had he/she/it missed your earlier post condemning both scenarios (or forgotten that it was you who made that earlier post), and therefore not known the context of your question, it would be a fairly easy-to-jump-to conclusion.
If I were in high school I'd say BAMF. Being older I say, not terrible crime, but certainly irresponsible. Why can't these girls find someone closer to their own age, it's not like they are ugly? Does this kid have a big dick, lots of money, look like Brad Pitf? I'm guessing the kid had a million dollars.
This is happening so frequently that perhaps we should look into why. Scientists have determined that like other mammals we do possess a working vomeronasal organ that responds to human pheromones, and I suspect that packing all those hormonal pubescents together in the same confined air as 20-something year-old teachers is contributing to, if not causing, these problems. So the sexual abuse likely stems from demands for greater national energy efficiency by restricting the air exchanges in houses and public buildings, which started with the Carter Administration and has been continually mandated by environmental activists within the federal government. If only we could go back in time and try to explain to the public that environmental activism would inevitably lead to an epidemic of teachers raping students, but I doubt disco-era people would believe us anyway.
So far some WF members are wrapped around the axle over age. IT'S NOT THE AGE, IT"S THE POSITION OF AUTHORITY! If they had sex with a 16 year old from another state (with the age of conset being 16) it would be okay in most cases.
My theory is that most of these young teachers enjoyed a great deal of popularity in high school, considered it "the best time of their lives," feel let down by the adult world, and form inappropriately close relationships with students in order to recapture the magic. Sex is just a side effect.
Of course I would. A sixteen year old is capable of consent. But a teacher, much like an employer or superior officer, etc., enjoys an uneven power dynamic that can still make the situation exploitative. Therefore, fire for cause, but it shouldn't be illegal, regardless of the nine available gender permutations.

The younger female perps, like the 24 y/o, aren't significantly more mature than the kids they're teaching. Despite having gone through college, they slip back into a high school mindset very easily. I don't disagree. I had a hot teacher in high school and a few in college. If you are dating your professor, it could be seen as bad too because they could give you bad or good grades depending on your relationship, even if they are consenting adults. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
