I've been there for a few years. I don't post very often, but I'm there from time to time. It's a great site. You can't discuss modern politics though. If you want to learn about history of any time period. They have it all.

Now WF will suggest I visit there more often.

Gotchya. I'm not too familiar with that time. Except i watched a documentary on Nat Geo, not that like ng ago. It was about recent discovery of people coming from what is Russia into... damn i cant remember.

There's an ethnic group in Siberia that has a direct genetic and linguistic link to a Native American tribe pretty much proving that migration (in both directions) across the Bering Land Bridge was a certainty, not just a theory.

Africans have zero. This makes sense - Homo Sapiens originated in Africa and displaced Neanderthals as they spread out across the globe. If Humans (homo Sapiens) had never left Africa or were defeated and driven to extinction by Neanderthals who knows how civilization would be?

The prevailing theory is that neanderthals and homosepians intermingled. In lay man terms, they had sex. Neandthothalsneanderthals didn't die out, the just intergrated.theres enough evidence to support the idea that humans from Siberia crossed into the Americas and migrated south as far as Chili. Mostt like that all "native Americans" and"South Americans" are descended from the initial siberians.

Under that theory, you could say the Neanderthals didn't die at all, they just kept diluting their genes by breeding with all the humans until the gene mixture was similar to their original population ratios. That would be like having an isolated community of 1000 people that included 25 people from a distinctly different lineage. Over time you'd end up with a population with genes that were 97.5 percent from one lineage and 2.5 percent from the other. There's no extermination, displacement, or inter-species competition at work, yet the smaller group ceases to exist as a distinctly separate set of people.

From recent studies on Native American genetics and some archaeological finds in Russia, it seems that the Native Americans weren't ever like modern eastern Eurasians. They are similar to the genetic mix that was in Asia before they crossed into the New World. After they left, the population of Eurasia kept on shifting and diversifying into what we see today.

 

I want to debate that, but at a more sober time. I will say this though. There's a cut off time for humans crossing the bearing straight. That would makeup for the difference. For example, white people are only found in Erope despite the fac that many non-white peope migrated to Erope. The last ice age factored in the diversity in population. In Africa, some people remained and that's why we have "black" people. Simply put, some humans decided to remain. I think what we can take away is that there is no race per say, just one species.

 

I think the point was that the Russians were finding skeletons in the heart of Russia whose DNA more closely matched modern Native Americans than modern Siberians.

A long-running debate over the origins of Native Americans has taken a surprising twist on the shores of Russia’s Lake Baikal.

The genomes of two Paleolithic individuals — a 24,000-year-old juvenile and a 17,000-year-old adult — found at sites near the Siberian lake suggest Native Americans are more closely related to Western Eurasians than previously believed.

Native American Origins

Previously, many researchers believed Native Americans were likely descended from earlier East Asian populations who traveled across land bridges now submerged beneath the Bering Straits.

However the genome sequencing of the 24,000-year-old individual, known as MA-1, indicated that he was genetically most closely related to Native American lineages and to modern western Eurasians, but showed no clear relation to east Asians. That evidence, supported by the sequencing of a 17,000-year-old humerus from the same area, suggests a different scenario for the origins of Native Americans.

Researchers believe the genome represents a point on our family tree after west Eurasian and east Asian lineages split, placing Native American lineages more firmly in a western branch. It now appears that western Eurasians were disbursed over a larger, more north-easterly area than previously known, and it was these early hunter-gatherers who eventually migrated to North America.

The authors estimate that about 14–38% of Native American ancestry might have originated from this western Eurasian stock, with the remaining proportion originating from east Asian populations. This could explain why skulls of some Native Americans bear features that do not resemble those of east Asians.

The First Europeans
MA-1 also represents the earliest known genome for an anatomically modern human, according to the research team’s findings, published today in Nature.

Genetic evidence of west Eurasian ancestry in modern Native Americans was previously assumed to be the result of European colonization of the Americas from the 15th century on. It now appears, however, that neither Columbus nor 10th century Viking explorer Leif Eriksen — not even traveling Irish monks back in the fifth and sixth centuries — can claim to be the first Eurasian to set foot on the New World.

Kind of interesting.

 

Keep in mind that Russia and China attempts to claim to a lot of things that would make them the "cradle of civilization. They lay claim to a lot of stuff that would serve their propaganda.
