    I half suspect Jeriko wasn't an actual person. More like Storm's Evil Twin.

    Watching Justified and drinking scotch (I'm out of bourbon!!). Finished Justified but kept on drinking. How the fuck are you hosers doing? Gas is cheap, ISIS is killing people like it's free, Obama doesn't care, and it's going blue on blue in the Muslim world. Life is actually...not that bad! Plus I'm on vacation, bitches! Listenin' to some BSG Bear McReary tunes and feeling not sleepy. Fuck you hosers.

    My MINI used to take over fifty dollars to fill up, but now it's just over 30. Even the recent 20 cent increase from 2.45 a gal for premium on base isn't killing my budget.

    How can you like the Dropkick's? They are all about everything that you hate -- unions, progressive politics, unions, Boston, socialism.

    Tessie is a great song, by the way. :techman:

    It is not whiskey but the process can likely be used on whiskey. A company from Northern California has designed a process to make six day old rum taste exactly like high quality rum which has been aged in Oak barrels for 20 years.

    Supposedly they had international tasting experts from around the world try it in blind tests and it had them all fooled. Their goal is to license the tech to other companies and get royalty payments thus improving the mass market mid range spirits market.

    Far-stretching, endless Time
    Brings forth all hidden things,
    And buries that which once did shine.
    The firm resolve falters, the sacred oath is shattered;
    And let none say, "It cannot happen here".

    I'll pass on some advice I got from The Onion's "Ask a Seal" relationship advice column. There are few problems that can't be solved with C-4.

    Just had something of an epiphany. For years I've thought it was my job making me feel old and giving me grey hair, and while there might be something to that, there's still that part of me that just lets go when the wheels leave the deck, and time spent flying isn't deducted from one's lifespan. What is REALLY making me grey is this feeling like I'm engaged in a constant war for the spirit of my country, the Constitution, and our way of life. Maybe I'm too engaged politically, or take what's happening in Gov't too much to heart, but apathy on these things by a fat, dumb, happy citizenry is what has led us to this place. There's been a long-standing illusion that America is indestructible- that it can withstand anything. It's not true and we are being destroyed from the inside out centuries faster than it happened to the Roman Empire- mostly because things happen at the speed of light in our world rather than the speed of wind, cart, and horse. Things in this country are finally getting to the point where more people are waking up, but the damn frog is already par-boiled, for those who get the reference. There is a cadre of people in high places that I firmly believe are deliberately trying to destroy us. Among others they are the adherents of Khrushchev and Lenin, the fans of Che Guevara and Castro, and the disciples of Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Coupled with our external enemies (of which there are many), I'm afraid we may already be royally screwed. When we go down, how does the rest of the world fare in the aftermath? It's something for our friends to think about, and prepare for. Like our high command in about January of 1942, I am not hopeful. Than again, there was the reality of 1945. We've been underestimated before.

    The Administration is under the illusion that subsequent actors can't undo the current policies. They are wildly mistaken.

    Question for both you and gturner.

    Which major policies of Bush did Obama undo? Which major policies of Obama do y'all think the next admin will undo?

    According to Real Clear Politics average of polling data, 61.2 percent agree with Marso that the country is on the wrong track. He's also correct about the motivation of many in the administration, who think that US success is because we're the problem.

    Re Anc: One major Bush policy that Obama undid was the policy of winning wars, backing allies, intimidating enemies, and not stirring up race riots.
