Considering that the US has waged more wars than any other western nation over the past century, disregards human rights when it comes to camps like Gitmo, still struggles with religious extremism within it's own borders, has extremely popular presidential candidates openly promoting bigoted policies and executes more people on average than Saudi Arabia, I'd say that from an outside perspective there are alarming red flags of a slide towards the dark side.

Having said all that, @Ten Lubak might also want to think about China and North Korea when it comes to "disgusting mistreatment".

If everyone was as intollerant as Dayton to people who are different than him then he would never have gotten any money in his recent time of need including from people like El Chup. The irony in this is that El Chup exhibits more Christian values than Dayton does. Although Dayton sets the bar pretty low.

I didn't get money from El Chup or anyone remotely like him.

All the money we received was from people affiliated with churches.

I did get a nice book from El Chup (and one from ed629) which I appreciated.

That said what makes you think that I haven' t given money to people in desperate straits in the past? I have but I do not believe in advertising it for obvious reasons.
