Sigh. For your statement to be true, the majority of people would have to be in jail for violent acts, as well as be politically active prior to their incarceration. The last figures I saw, indicated that the majority of people in jail were there for non-violent crimes, like drugs, parole violations, etc. It's been a while since I've paid attention to the figures, so that might have changed. I also seriously doubt that many of the people in jail, regardless of political persuasion, were regular voters before getting locked up.
