I assume if a loyalist like me was that bothered other, less invested, posters would have been easier to push away.

I find this attitude a bit cowardly to be honest.....and doubly surprising given that after the election result you were fighting the good fight. Running away from such people and letting them dominate the discourse achieves nothing IMO. Equally, acting like they should not have a voice is to sink to the same level. Plus, the post election boasting from the alt-righties was always going to happen.

Actually, for you, I'm a mirror - whatever you see from me is just a reflection of yourself. And that's true for fewer than a dozen posters here. He was....but at the same time, his departure could've been avoided if he's not been so easily brushed off by the mods, who proceeded to ridicule him over by terming him a "drama queen", "jerk" and "baby" among other things, which he felt was trolling under cover of moderatorship. I didn't always agree with him, but he's good people. I think his departure was a loss.

When it's a whole board that seeks to show their ass, that requires a culture shift. More often than not, those outside of that shit flinging just leave. That's partly why TK is a ghost town. That's why the Godawful Fanfiction board i once posted at went from a membership of 1000 active posters before their 2006 crash to completely shut down less than two years later when the only members who came back months later were the jackals who were proud to "eat their own" for something as stupid as posting a thread about one's dad dying in the wrong forum.*

Which goes back to, if you don't like him, just ignore him. That doesn't work unless everyone does it. This is a discussion board. Even if you choose not to listen to the raving lunatic shouting, if there are enough people eventually one of them will get fed up and start shouting back.
