...how far does the bullshit have to go until the comparison is cool with you? Do I have to catch you with your hands around Anne Frank's neck? Do the gas chamber trains have to be a-runnin? It's the gas chambers, isn't it? Why are the gas chambers the deal breaker? You realize, that if you take the gas chambers out of Nazism, Nazism still sucked right? The whole thing. Top to bottom. Their new-age pseudo-religion, their blood myth, their little boot clomping parades down the street, the goose-step, their fruity salute, the hot-head nationalistic speeches, all of it. Sensible people who observe trends would kind of like to nip every little bit of it in the bud. Not just the gas chambers. Although, I'll admit, that's a biggie. You get that, right? Nationalistic bullshit isn't like a tea cookie, where you can say "oh, I'll just eat one", and you mean it, because tea cookies are lame. No, it's like a hot plate of Toll House cookies where it always ends with a pot gut with a swastika on it. Nope, no cookies period for you, human race. History shows you can't even have the first cookie. I know Trump is telling you "have all the cookies, it'll be okay this time", but that's just what your diet breaking belly troll wants to hear. And I think deep down, you know it.
Nazis breathe oxygen. Diacanu breathes oxygen. Diacanu is a Nazi. = Bad comparison. Nazis kill people just for being Jews, handicapped, Romani, or Communists. Donald Trump wants to kill peoplej ust for being Jews, handicapped, Romani, or Communists. = Good comparison. The closer we are to my "Bad Comparison" example, the less cool I am with the comparison. The closer we are to my "Good Comparison" example, the more cool I am with the comparison. Right now we are still so close to "Nazis breathe oxygen. Diacanu breathes oxygen. Diacunu is a Nazu" that this entire conversation is utterly ridiculous.
You're dream land, you histrionic, hyperbolic goof. The Nazis were so far above and beyond evil that these facile comparisons are absolutely moronic. You should actually be ashamed of yourself.
Ah, I see the problem. Sean thinks "evil", is this black smoke that gets on people's souls, instead of a label human beings place on certain behaviors. But of course he would, he's a relig-oid.
Bee stings ≠ death. ...unless you have an allergy. Humans have a nationalism allergy. It's not good for us.
Objectively, there are a number of parallels between Hitlerism and Trumpism. Both were thought of as clownish figures who couldn't possibly mean all the crazy things they were saying. Both railed against "elites": international bankers, the political establishment, the media, intellectuals, etc. Both appealed to "the forgotten majority" of rural working class folks. Both villainized an already marginal segment of the population to use as scapegoats for society's problems. That's not enough to say they're exactly the same, but they're following the same script.
That's ridiculous 1) Hitler was only considered "clownish" by groups of German elitist who looked down on him for various reasons. Other highly regarded people like Winston Churchill took Hitler very seriously. 2) EVERYONE rails against "elites" "international bankers" "the political establishment'. Just who the hell was Bernie Sanders harping about last year? Is Sanders a Hitler wannabe? 3) When did Donald Trump appeal to "rural working class folks"? Not saying he didn't. Just remember nothing specific about them. 4) Who has Trump "villianized" ? If you're saying illegal aliens then consider they should not be in this country in the first place. They are de facto criminals.
Trump's inaugural address certainly borrowed tactics used by the actual nazis. Yesterday's speech was much better, and borrowed nothing from goebbels and instead drew from (probably) Reagan who introduced some theatre to state of union addresses. But Obama was an outright big fat liar which arguably is even worse than populist flag waving, and even worse, Obama has ditched the classy now that his time has past, and decided to return to activism to try and prevent all his actions in office from becoming irrelevant and forgotten. So Obama again took from Alinski's playbook to organize fake protests at town halls to protest obamacare's demise. Libs give Obama a pass, and won't even recognize that over 35% of Trump's populism last night is leftie (often shit) ideas, or at least it was before Trump said it. The Obama Network aka CNN has been advertising to its leftie viewers (all CNNs remaining viewers are left to far left) about the town halls to further draw out the activists and career protestors.
Not a refutation. You basically agree many Germans failed to take Hitler seriously until it was too late. It is true that populism is a strategy often employed by politicians on the left as well as the right. Bernie Sanders continues to point out the destructive influence of Wall Street and big money interests on the political process. However, unlike Trump his populist attacks didn't extend to the media, universities, or "coastal elites" in general. Seriously? How about every time he talks about putting coal miners back to work? But I'll admit the word "rural" might have been misleading since I would include the rust belt working class voters as well. He has exaggerated the impact of illegal immigration in an emotional appeal to get people fired up about supporting him.
Aren't you just parroting Trump here? What is your proof Obama is personally behind the town hall protests?
The Nazis imprisoned political opponents, marginalized and ultimately exterminated minorities, and waged aggressive war against their neighbors. Donald Trump complains about the press, tried to impose a 90-day moratorium on immigration from 7 countries known to be hotbeds of terrorist activity, and wants to build a wall to enforce existing immigration law. To quote Samuel Jackson from Pulp Fiction: "It's not the same ballpark, it's not the same league, it's not even the same motherfuckin' sport."
The bugger's only been in office for, like, five weeks. Hell, you haven't even had your Reichstag Fire yet. Time, the Donaldistas need a bit of time.
Make the comparison when it actually becomes apt. You can always say "Just wait longer and it'll happen!"
The comparison to Donald is the early Hitler-as-chancellor. Which, in Weimar eyes, didn't look all that disturbing. So I think it's apt. Hey, we'll see. And if Donald (Bannon) turns out to be innocuous, I'll be the first to sound the All Clear.
Trump is a Nazi like Obama is a Muslim Socialist. It's funny now that the shoe is on the other foot the same type of wild accusations are being hurled by the side that once decried it. But, that's recent American politics in a nutshell.
So you are admitting the claims about President Trump are false and simply "retaliation" for what you see as the mistreatment of President Obama?
No you fucking obtuse piece of flotsam I'm saying both those descriptions of the respective presidents are weak, spurious and not valid. Trump is not a nazi. Obama is not a muslim socialist. I can't even believe I have to explain that.
Again, so you are admitting the claims about President Trump are false and simple "retaliation" for what you see as the mistreatment of President Obama?
You've got my answer, couldn't have laid it out any more clear than that. I can fax it to you if you give me your fax number.
I don't have a fax machine. If I send faxes I use the schools. And if you are claiming you responded to my claim then you are lying.
I didn't know Trump said it, I'm not a Trump follower, and only a fan of the message, not the messenger (who got elected). It just seemed so obvious when I started seeing the obamacarites getting rowdy at the town halls exactly like the occupy 'movement', and then saw CNN with a banner "town hall" for the past 5 days using valuable tv space to further an agenda. Just put 2 plus 2, though I'll have no problem acknowledging it if turns out to be legitimate grass root locals. Oh, I'll also cop to being a fan of the cabinet and prospects for US growth the next few years. You're no troll, but the several prolific leftforge trolls can easily see that Trump is just their mirror image - and that just because he's troll doesn't mean he's wrong about something. CNN happens to be complete trash as a "news" source, but probably accurate more often than not as a mouthpiece for the propaganda of democrat ideology. Trump calling it "fake" is not that far off, however poorly he might package his 'message.'
