Many of my liberal friends on facebook have taken to referring to Trump as "45", as if saying his actual name will invoke a visitation like Beetlejuice. I find it hilarious. I guess they think they're being cleverly disrespectful, but all they're doing is revealing their pettiness. A couple of years ago I saw a clip from a function where Jesse Waters was trolling the crowd, asking, "Do you think Obama's doing a good job?" George Clooney exploded on him, looking like he wanted to strangle Waters: "That's PRESIDENT Obama! He's the president of the United States! PRESIDENT Obama!" Having demanded respect for the pres HE liked, I wonder how Clooney refers to the current president.
I'd avoid using the word Trump too if I had the option. It IS slang for farting in some places.Kinda like how some folk refer to taking a shit as a "number 2", we can refer to Trumping as a number 45.
Nope. Unlike you, they've caught on to the fact that he's attracted to the sight of his name in pixels the way Nancy Crater was attracted to salt. Any publicity, positive or negative, feeds him. Did you vote for him? Do you think he's the Bestest Precedent Evah, are you ready to reelect him in '20? No? Then stop giving him free publicity the way the media did. (I once heard Wolf Blitzer say his whole name - not just the last name, but "D----- T----" 17 times in a single sentence.) If you're offended by "45," call him Donny, as in "Shut the fuck up, Donny," unless you think he's All That. Then again, you're offended by the mere existence of other posters on a message board, so you won't be able to read this, but perhaps others less delicate than you will understand. Personally, I prefer Der Drumpfenführer, but that's just me.
Gosh, Forbin, so you found one liberal (Clooney) who acted like a bonehead regarding Obama. Well, there are boneheads everywhere you look. (When I worked at the post office there was a guy who would drive us and the mail out to deliver it. He was fond of nailing human stupidity by saying "Bunyaks to the left of us, bunyaks to the right of us.") Sorry, I refer to Donald as Donald. It's a way of refusing to take the bastard seriously. Everybody called Clinton "Hillary" from day one, so I'm merely continuing the contempt with Donald. Hillary, by the way, got three million more votes than Donald did. And while I can't really challenge the legitimacy of his victory under the highly undemocratic system in the United States, I can still show my contempt for him (in every way I can possibly think of). The last thing you want to do with a shithead like that is take him seriously or show him the slightest respect. He's a troll, and should be treated accordingly.
Trump trumps Obama. Plus he's systematically deconstructing all the big government sprawl adopted unilaterally by Obama. And with a cooperative congress he's also deconstructing Obama's legislative 'legacy,' such as it is. He's not "my" president is a common far-left liberal mantra, as it was during much of Bush 43. But at least this time it's more understandable why they are still in a river in Egypt about the reality that Hillary lost.
yes, pettiness. That is what it is I am sure. It has nothing to do with the fact he is not our democratic elected president by over 3 million votes. It has nothing to do with the fact he emboldens domestic terrorists to shoot people they think are Muslim. It has nothing to do with him choosing the stupidest cabinet and advisors ever. It has nothing to do with an obvious relationship with Russia and that they helped him win the election. It has nothing to do with the fact he is the least qualified person in our history to lead the country. He is a joke, and it is petty of liberals to at least want something one dignified who is not having sexual artists in Russia where he is on a bed Hillary slept on getting pissed on by hookers and probably his daughter? He is a child throwing tantrums, and you want us to treat an orange colored toddler with respect because we might be petty in your eyes? Do me a favor and shove it. If you want to kiss his ring and play pretend president with him you have no room to bitch at anyone for your choice.
So childish. We should lower the voting age to nine - both sides are acting at about that level lately. I did not know that! Somebody should mention it in every. single. conversation.
First off Obama was only president for 8 years and was opposed at every turn by Russian...I mead red.....oh wait, I mean republicans. He didn't make this country what it is. That is the fault of history and politics on both sides. Obama was pretty status quo. Also Hillary won the popular vote so trump does not have majority support.
Well, if it is childish to you then so be it. Maybe if you didn't back the biggest fuck up in the US people might seem less childish to you. Btw did you know your dignified president pitched a fit and ran down to golf in Mar a largo last weekend because sessions overshadowed his speech to the MIC in VA? Mr dignity made staffers cry and put Reince preibus in timeout and would not let him go golfing because sessions refusing himself stole his thunder. Perhaps I need to quote the definition of petty to you? It seems you might not understand you are kneeling to the most petty of them all.
I though calling Hillary Clinton "Hillary" was 1) To distinguish her from Bill Clinton. 2) In 2008 IIRC, she had lots of campaign material simply referring to her as "Hillary!!". As for the tired old thing "Hillary Clinton got nearly three million more votes than Donald Trump". 1) Donald Trump won the popular vote in 31 states. With 306 electoral votes. 2) Take away just ONE state (California) and Donald Trump won the popular vote by about one million votes. 3) Take away just TWO states (California and New York) and Donald Trump won the popular vote by nearly FIVE MILLION votes. Yes, he is an egotistical, vulgar, profane, disgusting jerk. But America has plenty of those. This one just happened to be elected president.
During Obama, most of the people doing this once flooded my FB feed with memes saying they can't believe the level of disrespect directed at a president of the United States! Respect the office even of you don't like the man! yadda yadda. blah blah. Eat the eggs from the fat side first.
Anyone see "The Last Man on Earth" this week? It's a Fox comedy series about the end of the world. It's been on hiatus since Trump was elected, but the most recent episode had a news report that referenced the 46th President of the United States:
Hey moron, THE POPULAR VOTE DOES NOT MATTER!! Clinton knew that, but she took so much for granted and the media was so sure she would win that they didn't pay attention to signs showing otherwise. When are you going to get this through your tiny little white trash pea brain?
When Republicans stop saying the American people are behind Trump's agenda - the majority of them AREN'T, electoral math be damned.
The final piece to the puzzle! Someone must have told Trump when he was little that he had to "look out for number 1", and he misunderstood...
In eight years, I never saw a single thing insisting that Obama have his boots licked on the grounds that he's president. And my liberal connections are impeccable. I did see a lot of stuff about him being demonized on the grounds that he's (shudder) b-b-b-black. And I KNOW that this part is true, cuz I actually have family in the US who hated him for that exact reason. And there are tons of boneheads who believe that when he wasn't down at the local mosque he was issuing executive orders to seize and nationalize your neighbour's guinea pig. How can it possibly be that I missed all this "yadda yadda. blah blah"??
Beats me, but I got it on my feed at least once a week. Here's some of it so you can be conversant next time it come up.
Actually the show debuted in 2015 and pretty much takes place in the present day, or at most 2-3 years in the future. The news report with president #46 was a flashback, so I'm guessing it was a not-so-subtle comment that Trump will be replaced within the first year of his presidency. The show even names successive presidents following the death of #46, but I won't spoil it any further.
Literally every time someone tells me a story about something that's happening on Facebook it makes me happy I'm not on Facebook.
It basically implied that each successor had died from the disease and it could be the second term, but I'm pretty sure before the mid-season break, it was around 2019.
Yep, I quit Facebook within a few months of joining as I have every social media site that comes along.
Funny, I never saw the like. It's pretty stupid because the president -- even in the US, where he's treated like a virtual monarch -- should have his every move scrutinized. He has too much power for this not to be the case. This must be chest-beating in response to the unveiled racism of so much anti-Obamaism. After all, he was in fact an over-timid, middle-of-the-road Clintonite, not freaking Pol Pot. But to listen to the people foaming at the mouth about him, "Comrade" Obama was fixin' to collectivize the whole shootin' match. Ah Gawwwd, my entire life American politics has been a cause of Major Facepalm'n'Eyeroll. There seems no end to it.
I hardly use it myself except for the messenger app. That thing is addictive I've as hell and I might need a support group.
