    Holy shit.

He's done. I wonder if he'll take Pence down with him. In that case, does the usual succession line kick in and Paul Ryan becomes prez - or would such a double whammy cause a major constitutional crisis because there's no tool for a new election?

    Criminal investigation.

Very important to include the word criminal, because obviously the FBI wouldn't be conducting a criminal investigation of somebody who wasn't a criminal.

At least that's the way it worked when Clinton's emails were being investigated.

Wasn't Comey under investigation himself over supposedly interfering with the Clinton campaign?

 Ah yes, and all suspects are guilty, period. Otherwise, they wouldn't be suspects, would they?

No, but if you use the same words together often enough, you can cause people to draw the inference in their own minds. That's why it was so important to mention the criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton's email server at ever opportunity.

Getting Paul Ryan as a replacement would be the best possible outcome. Pence won't get us into a nuclear war but the amount of dedication he has to anti-LGBT stuff is staggering. No doubt Ryan will pander to those idiots too, but at least we'll be done with the wall nonsense and seniors will continue to get their meals.

Hopefully, the GOP will do a better job of vetting who gets to run next time.

Don't pin your hopes on this bringing Trump down. Even if the investigation turns up criminal activity, it wouldn't necessarily be on Trump's part.

If Trump and Pence both go down, yes, I'd be fine with Paul Ryan, but then we'd have, and I had to look this up, Orin Hatch as VP.

    Fingers crossed, though! :shakes:

As much as a president Pence situation would still blow chunks for me and mine, I think it would be worth it for the little bit of relief on the racial tension front. Trump being president, whether you want to lay the blame on him or on the people who felt emboldened by him, has unleashed a whole lot of hate and mistrust. We all need a time out from the insanity.

It doesn't work that way. IF both Trump and Pence were forced out of office SIMULTANEOUSLY (hard to see how that could possibly happen) then Speaker of the House Ryan would be sworn in as President. President Ryan would then appoint his own Vice President. His choice with congressional approval.

Arguably, that particular ball started rolling well before Trump even threw his hat in the ring with the Zimmerman case, and the subsequent BLK movement as FB took off.

But yeah, it'll be nice to have a President with a resemblance of giving a fuck about not pissing people off.

    Edit: to @Mrs. Albert

Well, in that case she will have never said it, but if you insist she said it, then she didn't say the thing you said she said when she meant something else, and you'll have said it, which means it was something you said and not something you said that she said.

    Silly.

    And
Yeah. Not sure why people who should know better don't know this.

If Trump goes than Pence takes over and chooses someone.

If both managed to go at the same time which it would be doubtful that Pence is involved in anything Trump is supposed to have done, than Paul Ryan would become POTUS and choose a VP.

But none of that is going to happen because all of you are salivating over nothing. Hilarious that all of you keep ignoring that everyone in the government keeps saying there was no collusion. So now you don't believe them?

Can you guys make up your minds?

    And you're wrong.

There is no line of succession for the Vice-President. Only the President.

In a situation where the country loses the President and Vice-President at the same time the only spot automatically filled is the President.

Once everything is settled than the President as per the Constitution, 25th Amendment, will choose a Vice-President.
