I keep saying it, but FTL would totally be his jam. Space battles, natch, but you also get to get anal retentive about how you repair and upgrade your ship, and allocate your resources, he'd love it. It's the game of his soul. One of the ships even looks like the Defiant. Then, for away mission type fights, he can switch to XCOM, and pretend it's in the same world.
BTW, the first part of my post wasn't a joke. I've actually seen the Klingons and been told the violence is fairly excessive.
I'm prepared to be realistic. Take ANY series from 50 years ago any update it and, unless it's a period piece, it won't look much of anything like the original. All I don't ant is- *Flash for the sake of flash. A Starfleet (or Klingon) ship should be a real working ship that looks like something in between a Navy ship and a cruise ship (and closer to the former) in aesthetic and not the Apple-store shit from JJprise *completely unnecessary change for the sake of change - I understood the rational of "this is what Klingons would have always looked like if we could afford it" but not everything falls into that category. And that particularly as it relates to storyline and "canon" - for example if everyone in Starfleet has met a Romulan just because the producers love Roulans and fuck what's already established But the tech and the uniforms and whatever? Meh. it will either feel like Star Trek or it won't, regardless of the bells and whistles. (and honestly, I don't think it WILL in fact "feel" like Star Trek, but I'm willing to give it a chance to impress me whether or not it does)
I feel like they should at least make it look pre TOS without having plastic buttons. I saw some good art from TBBS that had a "modern" looking console from TOS, but it still retained the basic look of the colored buttons and it looked really good. Perhaps @Forbin could render something like that?
We'll call it How I Met Your Klingon. "Kids, in the summer of 2230, your Uncle Leonard and I were living above a bar on Antares Prime ..."
How did I forget Ford? (Not a joke, I actually was only thinking of Nixon and Carter. I don't know why.)
You must have jumped over from the Berenstein universe. Let me guess, where you come from the Watergate burglers did the job right the first time, so they never went back again and got caught.
I saw art on a podcast of a Klingon ship that looked as advanced as friggin' V'Ger. If that's gonna be the look of things....sss...yikes....
I was mainly thinking about Ford. My grandmother (mom's mother) simply adored Ford and mom said she would've been so happy if she had lived to see Gerald R. Ford as president. Minnie died in 1969 just after Apollo 11 (she also had a big interest in the space program).
OH GREAT, A CHICK NAMED MICHAEL http://trekmovie.com/2017/04/03/son...ficer-michael-burnham-in-star-trek-discovery/
Somehow I'm getting less and less excited about this show. So, afraid a little trans*gender action will make your balls disappear? I mean if you had any, that is. I know a woman named Michael. Not Michaela, Michael. Cheap controvery and the right reacts according to the script
If after Ivana Trump divorced Donald Trump, married Neil Diamond she'd be Ivanna Diamond. And then divorced Neil Diamond and married Jack Nicklaus she'd be Ivanna Diamond Nicklaus. If she then divorced Jack Nicklaus and married Ron Darling, she'd be Ivana Diamond Nicklaus Darling.
They're going for gritty. https://www.flickeringmyth.com/2017...-discovery-will-be-bigger-rawer-and-grittier/
