I know it's hard to do but really in a mass shooter situation like this everyone needs to get up and attack the shooter. He was in the aisle between the pews. He can't aim at everyone at the same time. This asshole had time to check each aisle and execute crying babies and children according to two adult survivors. We've really got to start teaching people that when trapped in a room with a mass shooter it's best to get up and fight. You might still die but your actions may save others with you. Everything that wasn't nailed down should have been thrown at this guy. At his head. Hard to shoot when your ducking things being thrown at you. In a situation where you can't escape you need to go on the offense and be violent.
Your solution would mean the country would have to turn fascist because how else do you think your going to get the guns? People aren't going to give them up. So it's curtailing everyone's rights and a bloody house-to-house fight. And once the country is fascist do you really think the government with all these new "powers" is going to give them up?
I am inclined to agree but I don't know what I would actually do in this type of situation. I like to think I'd fight but who knows.
Just played the finale from Tschaikovski 4 in my last concert I'm much more of a symphony person myself.
The culture is different you idiot. Americans are not like Australians. You're not getting guns without a fight.
Horse shit. 99% of you big talkers are just bluster. Then you will shuffle your feet, mutter garbage about tyranny, then comply. Or if you try to be slick and hide them only to eventually be caught after you smack your girlfriend or wife or kid around. Then you get to go to jail. Either way the problem stops getting worse and starts getting better. :b:
That's a common misconception. Straw purchases are a much bigger problem than stolen guns. Stolen guns are actually at the bottom of the list of the source of black market weapons. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/guns/procon/guns.html https://www.forbes.com/sites/frankminiter/2014/08/12/inside-the-black-market-for-guns/#2991ccd9181e
Nope. A universal background check would mean that no registration would be needed. The ATF can trace a gun to last person to have legally purchased it. The difference would be that instead of having a list of all gun owners and the guns they own, the ATF would need to get permission from a judge to do a trace.

I don't even believe in heaven or hell. But if they are real, it would be an egregious miscarriage of justice if this guy doesn't suffer for eons in torment. I always lean towards being anti-death penalty until cases like these come up. If this guy had lived, he would have been executed and I'm glad. It's possible this guy had a complete psychotic break but I doubt it. God may forgive, his victims may forgive, but I never would.
Very cool! So you play an instrument? I’m a solo piano guy myself. I always love a good fugue or sonata. Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms. But I enjoy listening to it all (depending on my mood) from chamber to opera.
So the shooter was previously caught trying to sneak weapons on to a base in NM after threatening to kill his chain of command. He was sent to a mental institution but escaped, bought a bus ticket, only to get caught as he tried to board the bus. Yeah, all of that should be ground to never be allowed to own a gun.
Look, we can point out that you're a twat, or we can explain why you're a twat. One is short and sweet, the other involves lots of words and you won't fucking change at the end of it anyway, so why waste time?
Actually, it all IS grounds to never be allowed to own a gun, and it seems that the problem wasn't in the law, but in the Military's implementation of it.
Kudos to this guy, and geez McCain makes it difficult to decide whether cancer's a good thing or not (OK, I guess not unless you're Deadpool). Excellent work on the healthcare issue, John, but you're being a goddamn asswipe and NRA stooge here... I'd think a health nominee commenting on a topic that claims multiple lives each year might JUST be commenting on their area of responsibility, Senator.
Gun control fail. Bigly. If you're going to run background checks on people, someone has to, y'know, put that background in a database somewhere.
The idea of eternal anything is disgusting. But I wouldn't shed a tear over a few million years of hell for this baby killing asshole.
That response should make him ineligible for the job. Not supporting Constitutional rights should be an immediate disqualifier.
Then can we get rid of all the assholes down South who trample on the 14th amendment every fucking day?
