why can't LGBT people give to support gay and trans kids? I've heard for years how the LGBT is such a large portion of the U.S. population (at least 10% is often claimed), plus I've seen repeated claims that LGBT people are better educated and earn more money than their sad fundamentalist evangelical critics.

Yet despite that LGBT can't seem to support gay and trans kids and instead rely on the federal government. so either the claims that LGBT are so numerous and successful are false......or they're a bunch of selfish pricks.

People seldom value something that is free. But beyond that you are suggesting that economic reasons are the main reasons a woman has an abortion. It isn't.

Support how? Do you mean by adopting them? Well, adopting for straight couples is difficult, for LGBTQ couples (or individuals) it's even harder. If you mean do they have organizations dedicated to helping LGBTQ kids, yes they do. Of course, these organizations are often blocked from interacting with minors by their parents or the government because people think that their only reason for wanting contact with these kids is to molest them.

First off gay and trans kids have parents. Normally they are straight. So why should someone else support straight people's children because they don't want them? Gay people chose to have children. Gay sex does not lead to an accidental pregnancy so when gay people have their children they are ready and have made the choice and support them. Most trans people who have children support theirs. The children on public support are overwhelmingly from straight parents so your argument is a lie. I do not argue with blatant lies.

I find it telling that as much as I disagree with your position, Dayton, you're still more willing to meet the other side a small part of the way in the social safety net discussion, unlike most if not of your peers on your side of the aisle. I compare anti-abortion to Portland's Vision Zero program, which seeks to eliminate all auto vs pedestrian fatalities in a given year. The goal is nice, but flawed, because unless vehicles are eliminated (impossible), someone is going to get hit, for their own stupidity or the driver's. Portland's insistence that Vision Zero will be achieved is foolish.
With anti-abortion, unless the need for abortions can be eliminated (rape, incest, risk to the mother and/or child, economic issues, birth control reasons), abortions won't go away. Making them illegal doesn't help matters at all, as they will still happen. If you truly want to address abortion, address the causes and realize that this will only minimize abortion. Rape? Stop slut shaming, give women the respect they not only deserve but need, take rape claims seriously (and offer proper consequences and restitution to false rape charges), and throw the book at the Brock Turner types. Incest? Offer better birth control access for consensual cases, discover and end nonconsensual cases sooner than later (an impossibility, however); genetic manipulation could ameliorate genetic issues from consensual conception, if not social consequences. Risk to the mother and/or child? Make sure better medical care is available. This means not fucking around with people's health care. Economic issues? That social safety net needs to be there, and schemes to take it away shouldn't happen. Birth control reasons? Make sure birth control will be there.
If abortion is that true sin in the sight of god, then that's how you address abortion. You minimize it by addressing why they occur.
