0 is PS4, Kiwami and Kiwami 2 are on PS4 and they're remakes of 1 and 2. 6 apparently does a very good job of catching you up on everything in between 0 and 6, but 3 4 and 5 are available on Playstation Now. They are also getting a remaster which has a release date in Japan but nothing elsewhere. These are also much less significant than Kiwami and Kiwami 2 where they apparently did some pretty heavy duty stuff. Also, if you have a PS3 I think 3 4 and 5 are just PS3 games. I almost bought a PS4 to play Yakuza, but they just announced 0 and Kiwami are coming to PC. 08/01 for Yakuza 0.
I got MOST of that but there's still a fuckton of "I'm a youth so I don't need proper language" in there. Remedy this, lest I violate your colon with a katana.
TLDR there are ways to play all of the main Yakuza games on PS4, whether through remakes like Yakuza Kiwami 1 and 2, Yakuza 0, or Sony's PS Now which is a way to stream PS3 games since there's no backwards compatibility.
Have ordered Wolfenstein: The Old Blood/The New Order for the PS4 because I have an overwhelming need to SHOOT NAZIS IN THE FACE!!!! and I also wanna buy The New Colossus but wanna see how the first game(s) grip me.
I remember the game playing better in The New Order but the story goes way crazier in Colossus. The game is pretty hard even on normal difficulty so it's totally reasonable to move to easy. The upgrade system being based on what kind of kills you get in game is pretty cool. Make no mistake, though, the story is the best part of this game.
Question: Would you play The Old Blood first, or after The New Order? Chronologically it's first, but released later. Story-wise, am I going to appreciate it more one way round?
Old blood is fine, but it wasn't nearly as good or as full fleshed as The New Order. I'd probably just play New Order first. Old Blood doesn't take place in the same reality, but you could definitely play it first if you wanted. It's shorter. It didn't stand out to me nearly as much as The New Order did.
The last couple of weeks I've been spending my lunchtimes playing Bridge Crew. Sitting on the TOS bridge in VR is an awesome experience but it's nigh on impossible to use those blinky light consoles without instruction overlays turned on.
Finished The New Order so started Old Blood - my pooch doesn't like the noises when I have to kill the Nazi dogs Had to explain to him that they are bad dogs, but I know really they are good dogs for evil masters. Haven't had enough of killing Nazi scum so ordered The New Colossus.
The New Colossus has that LSD sequence that you only get with Wyatt. I need another playthrough I guess.
Destiny just added a bunch of cool stuff with their current event and also the whisper exotic a few weeks ago. Suddenly there's a ton to do again!
I just picked up FrostPunk yesterday. From the same folks that gave us "This War of Mine". City building survival game in a world where global warming and a new ice age came a century early (read: steampunk). The usual keep the people content, warm, fed, etc while building a tech tree. Reviewers said that you'll get more out of the game by playing at the harder levels-but holy shit! There's little margin for error in the first few days. Not sure it was worth the$30 yet. It's a lot of TWoM, but expanded. Once I beat it, the replay experience may be the best thing to base my satisfaction on.
Beat Saber deserves all the hype, astoundingly well polished game. The user made Shia Labour track may be my favourite gaming experience of the year.
Blargh, I ran through Destiny 2 up to the entry Light for the first raid (not that I ever raid) and then got jaded by the "let's take everything that was great about D1 and get rid of it or re-introduce it as if it were new stuff!" issues. Haven't logged in since a week or so after the first raid went live. If it's improved significantly for non-raid content then I might have to pop back... Wolfensteins are done and replayability is limited. ESO still holds my attention but I'm largely just being completionist now on my new Sorc character - could probably grind out the remaining main story quests in a week if I bothered but trying to finish Thieves Guild (and realised I never ran the Fighters Guild quests on this character).
Old Blood was an appetizer. It's the prequel to New Order even though it came out after. Also it takes place in the same reality. In fact the ending of Old Blood is right where New Order starts with the attack on Deathshead and his fortress.
It does, but Old Blood also reinvents stuff from Wolfenstein 2009, which New Order hints ALSO happened - Caroline's attack on Hans Grosse and subsequent apparent death, for example. I assume this is what Foil means.
