People detransition for a variety of reasons, one of them being constant abuse and rejection by others. They detransition, that is they return to their dysphoria, in the hopes they will be left alone. Now, I know all about Charlie Evans (the person in the link Dinner posted), and I knew when I read that there would be bigots wanting to jump all over this kind of thing, because they believe it's not a real thing, that people aren't really transgender.

I disagree with the "returning to original sex" title. They never left. No one actually believes they're anything other than what they were born as, especially their families. As far as the targeting of children, as parents we need to protect them as best we can. Telling them the truth and being on guard for predators is extremely important.

The last time I checked, the whole concept of supporting the trans community was encouraging people to be WHO they are: regardless of gender. If that means transitioning, go for it. Need I remind you: Having freedom within your gender identity is STILL VERY NEW.

This is the price we pay for freedom to exist. Sometimes this is the path people have to go down in order to figure out who they are. That doesnt make anyone a villain.

The trans activist community do have an agenda, yes. That agenda is acceptance and normalizing gender fluidity. Some people just need to go through that to figure out who they are. No one needs to be villainized because of it.

OP, if you want to make any kind of point, you're gonna have to demonstrate that a sizable portion of those who transition later become unhappy and seek to detransition. This article doesn't demonstrate anything of the sort.

I'm really bothered by the implication that he is making suggesting an overlying pressure on young people to transition. That's simply not the case. If anything, the majority of the LGBT community are still being oppressed by folks like the OP that continue to place a stigma on the movement and frame it as though the whole concept is "degenerate and immoral"

I have had partners that are still in the closet and still are very debilitated because of their fear of being true to themselves. I would much rather them be pressured to be free than live in fear that they will be shunned or worse if they allow themselves to "come out" and be themselves.

In all the circles I travel in, the general consensus in the trans community is "no pressure." Just as it is cruel and horrific to out someone before they are ready, it is just as cruel to push someone to transition before they are ready. Add the fact that people who want to transition still go through multiple therapy sessions to make certain that what they are feeling is accurate before they can even be prescribed hormones should say exactly where the OP can shove their bigotry.

The very last conversation I had with El Chup was about him going on about how Tererun couldn't be trans because he had three black friend she wasn't like any other trans people he'd met. Frankly, we have seen it on this very forum where Nova has advocated very young children get life altering surgery and chemical treatments to “avoid unwanted puberty” when legally they are not even competent to sign a contract or consent to anything. There is a definite strain among trans activists to prey upon vulnerable children (and it is often the aquatic children which are most susceptible to this propaganda as shown in the stats) just so that the trans activists can some how feel validated about themselves. That is extremely selfish and shows no regard for the welfare of the children they are mutilating. This behavior needs to be a crime.
