It does this in Chrome on my Android too, no extensions installed. I get around it by touching down on the arrow until I get the option to open it as a new tab, and that always works (unless someone messes with the coding of the quote tags in their response). Not sure if iPhones have that capability or what browser you're using.
Tested on Mac OS X High Sierra using Safari, works fine. Tested on iPad OS 13.1 using Safari, works fine. I don't have an iPhone, so I can't test it there, and I'm not finding any related issues in the XF troubleshooting database. It sounds like it has something to do with how the browser handles PHP referrers. I'm not sure there's a way to create any kind of fix on Xenforo for something like that which wouldn't bork the software elsewhere.
I tested it on several users. T works on nearly everyone except @The Night Funky , @Ten Lubak and @14thDoctor
Also it seems like it’s only certain posts. I tried it on one of @Paladin s post and it didn’t work, then on another one it did, weird. This was the McDonalds thread. Same with @Spaceturkey
The arrow link has never worked properly for me on two different Android phones using Chrome. I always have to open as a new tab. I've even tried switching to Desktop mode, which sometimes helps fix weird glitches from websites optimized for mobile. Still didnt work.
Hey, now that I'm trying it on my computer, the arrows don't actually work on my PC either. Could've sworn they used to. I'm beginning to suspect it might be related to which forums skin we use, so I'm gonna test that hypothesis out.
Never mind, it has nothing to do with forum skins. Could it possibly have something to do with more and more browsers blocking Flash? Not sure that's how the little arrow button operates, but I keep getting a notification that Chrome has blocked Flash on Wordforge. Edit: the arrows work fine in Microsoft Edge, lmao. Please don't make me use Microsoft Edge.
No, Wordforge doesn't use any iteration of Flash. I've been digging around bug reports for Xenforo the past few days, and I have only found a few instances where this issue crops up: 1. A chrome issue (that includes any browser based on Chromium) that was supposedly fixed, but since we have an older version of Xenforo it may not have been included in that fix. 2. Our quote script may not be working properly. I will try to see if I can either reinstall it or update it if possible. 3. The Twitter embed code is disrupting the goto post command. There isn't a workaround for that one at the moment. I'll let you know what I can figure out.
I know it's worked after we installed the Twitter embed code, so unless there's been some changes to that recently, I don't think that it is the problem.
