A friend of mine just posted this reaction to the series. I want to point out that she works in the music industry and has dealt with a number of big name clients (think Snoop level, if not actually Snoop himself) so she knows people who are connected to Joe Exotic.
I seriously put more money than that on a down payment for my current car But Saff (the one arm guy who the documentary continually misgendered) was right: the ones who lost the most were the tigers. If we're breeding tigers this routinely, there ought to be more effort in re-release into the wild to. Tigers can easily roam 400 miles of land, much like orcas travel 100 miles each day and we rightfully banned those shows in the United States.
You can't release Joe and similar folks tigers into the wild, they are mongrel cross breed Tigers - Bengals, Asiatic etc etc. There are even Ligers thrown in there. Start introducing them into the wild and they will either fail very quickly or they completely ruin the native tiger populations. Also, I had no idea which gender Saff is. Not that it really matters. Saff did seem the most sensible person there, although going back to work 5 days after getting your arm bitten off by a tiger probably is not that good a move.
I refuse to watch this crap even though literally everyone I know my age is dying over it. Even my Senior Pastor has gotten in on it.
"You can't release Joe and similar folks tigers into the wild, they are mongrel cross breed Tigers - Bengals, Asiatic etc etc. There are even Ligers thrown in there. Too late. They are involved as well, along with puma's leopards and pretty much any other kind of big cat. The sad horrific fact that came out of this is that there are more Tigers in captivity in the USA than there are in the wild. USA USA USA - Fuck yea.......
Hey, don’t blame us for the decline of tigers in the wild. We’re not the ones with a history of colonialism and game hunting on one’s estate in the remote parts of the empire. This podcast talks about the guy who worked to reverse the decline of tigers in the wild. It took over 40 years for that to happen. https://www.futilitycloset.com/2020/01/06/podcast-episode-279-the-champawat-tiger/
while we're on the great cat subject.....enjoy this awe inspiring montage! Warning - one segment features a leopard or something, but otherwise it's all cheetah baby! Being the fastest land mammal as far as velocity is cool, but without the quickness (change in direction) it means nothing. Enjoy!
He was a New York Post reporter. That is pretty much what you can expect from the post. He probably got a promotion for that.
