80% of posts here are just reposting from twitter.com from people I don't know and couldn't care less about. Wouldn't surprise me if the actual source was in St. Petersburg.

WF is turning into a retweet fest with little content of its own. This isn't cute. It's not informative.

Please limit tweets to people who are actually known; any others are just spam.

You turning into Marso now? Only wanting others to post the kind of things that you want to see? You going to start a thread laying out a list of instructions for how people should respond to you? Ain’t nobody holding a gun to your head and making you be here.

I don't care what you post as long as it's not interfering with loading pages. The volume of twitter posts is obtrusive.

If you think the tweet is substantive, then follow it to its source and post a link to it with a comment. Otherwise you're just a little tweeting bird chirping in a meadow.

I don't see what your big problem is with tweets. I find some of them very interesting.

And when the source is the tweet, such as when someone's using Twitter to stream a live event, like a protest, what then? You sound like someone in the 1920s complaining about people discussing things they heard on the radio, which they can't accept as being "real news" because it hasn't been printed in the newspaper yet.

Another nice thing about posting Tweets is you get substantially more information than if someone just posts a comment and a link to an article. If you've paid attention to things that happen on the board, you'll know that people often don't actually click the links, and instead just react off of the comments that were posted describing the contents of the link. That leads to some "interesting" results when the link is old, or the person posting it has misrepresented what the link actually says. And since I spend a lot of time on my phone, it's a lot easier to drop a link to a Tweet, than it is to do a C&P of relevant parts of the article. It also ensures that if I've missed something like the date, someone out there will catch it and point out that the tweet is old.

Additionally, some times the key part of the tweet is the comment that the original Tweeter made. By dropping the link to the tweet, I'm ensuring that the originator of the comment is credited with their work. Something important for those who respect the rights of content creators, no?

Finally, while you might not have a use for Twitter, I find it to be an invaluable resource. Not only can I discover news happening in real-time that the media isn't going to be covering live (like when the Soyuz rocket carrying astronauts to the ISS had to do an emergency abort on launch), but I can also watch events unfold that no one from the media is there to cover live. There are also accounts like like this one, that do data-driven analysis on who is tweeting and what. This is important since what often shows up in the MSM is influenced by activity on social media, and the MSM doesn't seem to care if the source of that activity is a Russian controlled bot farm or not.

tweet away. blocking the domain on the PC works well. Phone is still a problem: without rooting it, the negatives of 3rd party blockers outweigh any advantage. I need to visit wf less anyway.

I find very few substantive. Trying to figure out the point of the tweet is more work than it's worth most of the time.

On mobile they take forever to download; a page full of tweets takes about 30 seconds. The amount of real-estate they consume for very little information is too high. Yes my phone is current and on a high speed connection.

Then stop using a shitty browser. The mobile version of Brave is the best out there with built in ad blocking.

I use Safari and have zero problems with stuff loading, either on WiFi or cell service. Even when I was using a pretty old iPhone.

I have read, but I don't know how accurate it is, that one of the reasons he picked the spot where he did was because he realized that no one could stick another head up there or do changes to the mountain, other than the ones he planned. It wouldn't surprise me if that was true, however.

I thought it was because he was not wearing shower shoes and got athlete's foot which was why he was so irritated he was going to blow his own feet off.

That must mean it is time for one thing.

I was actually thinking that a strong mexico worker income would actually help life mexico up and bring a new market to the world. That amount of pay in mexico should put you in what would be a comfortable middle class where you could be a much larger consumer. It is stuff like that which builds the middle class and creates consumer communities. Not only would that boost demand for US goods over time, but it would also create a demand for workers on that side of the border which would lower the all hated illegal mexican in the US.

I thought the whole purpose of mexico in NAFTA was to raise up mexico to a consumer based society and that would help america with a neighboring trade partner that had a higher demand for goods.
