National polls don't matter in a presidential election. State polls do. What should be most encouraging for the Biden camp is how he's doing in Georgia and Texas. If he wins Texas, that's the ball game. Republicans can't win without Texas.
"Mr. Trump, you're either a coward who can't stand up to an ex-KGB goon or you're complicit," he said. "Which is it?"
They really should be vetting this stuff, and the fact they aren't when the campaign has so much problematic messaging already is a sign of something worrying in and of itself. In this case however it seems most likely that they were just ripping off the Marines logo:
I don't see it. The eagle is smaller than the globe, suggesting it is perched atop rather than carrying away in its talons. The fouled anchor is traditional in naval symbolism. And the motto evokes noble self-sacrifice rather than childish arrogance.
Oh it's a terrible choice for a logo for those reasons, but I suspect the similarities in this case are due to the Trump campaign authoritarian mindset being similar to the one that designed the Nazi eagle, not directly ripping it off. Much like the similarities between dolphins and sharks, similar political mindsets will develop similar imagery. As said though, any sensible campaign would have seen the similarities and immediately nixed it for those reasons, the fact the Trump campaign doesn't says a lot.
I don't know. Why run an ad with a Nazi symbol 88 times and make sure that the first sentence of the ad has 14 words? It's not like there's a whole subset of people who think that powerful people post coded messages in public or anything.
This but also NC and all of Maine, IMO I know that statistically you expect some regression but things are not yet done going to shit and neither is his already limited support.
I don't expect Maine-2 to go for Biden, based on currently available data (which isn't much). Trump won it 51-41. I'd expect NE-2 to flip to Biden before ME-2, with North Carolina in between. But also this map isn't my personal expectations, just what 538's aggregate polling looks like adjusting for how the undecideds broke in 2016 (assuming 3rd party votes in line with 2012 rather than 2016).
Or Brad Parscale is fleecing the campaign for every penny it’s got. We’ll see what kind of car he’s driving in December.
The article the tweet links to is a long one, but worth reading. It also contains the hysterical story of Jared telling Parscale to "shut up" during a meeting. Kushner's the kind of guy who'd have gotten his ass beaten by the members of the A/V Club in school, for fuck's sake!
You know the definition of going full retard? That it's even a question if he gets reelected. That there is even the possibility of finding enough people who'll vote for him. But hey, at least the electorate in other countries, Austria included, isn't much wiser. I wonder if COVID kills the current crop of populist bullies or if it will require its bigger, badder cousin, Mr. Climate Change, for the people to stop ignoring science and basic human decency because they are so inconvenient sometimes.
Reportedly, they're spending $3.5 million a week, just on Facebook ads. 10% of that has been pimping Parscale. Doesn't sound suspicious at all.
