Texas is still getting hammered. Some parts of Texas are getting the worst snow & ice they have ever had.
Portland got hammered with ice, snow, and ice so TriMet actually suspended all service, and Fred Meyer has taken to shutting stores down early.
Have you even seen the sun/moon in the last week or so? Here in Augusta not even a hint of clear skies.
Rumor has it tomorrow I might see it. We just had a thunderstorm roll through an hour ago. Weird, because I can't imagine and air warm enough to cause that since it never got above 50 degrees today.
Got a couple of feet in NJ a couple weeks ago. Some of it has melted. Getting 5-8" more tomorrow. I told my neighbors I've been wanting a nice deep snowfall like when I was a kid, since I never have to drive in it again because I retired. Several of my neighbors said they're getting up a petition to make me go back to work.
US weather: These cities are approaching or setting records for the number of days of extreme cold (msn.com) Here's a good wrap-up on some of the insane cold. My daughter sent me pics of the grandkids playing in the snow in Memphis. February for your ass - hopefully these people get the power back on soon.
Here's report from my cousin Donna, who just moved from Phoenix to Texas just in time for this shit: Danna's a chronic migraine sufferer (like, daily), and she said the last thing she needed was to open the drapes in the morning and be hit by the glare of Bright! White! Snow!
Some Texas cities got nine or more - but the real butt kicker is the extreme sustained cold and power outages. Of course being Texas once the winter storm moves out the temperature will probably shoot back up into the 70's.
Zero inches here in boca. Actually it has been hot and humid. The AC is on and working so I stay inside. Why does my family have to live a couple inches from the sun? My cold heart longs for frost.
