I’ve never called, or heard those called spaghetti straps. But those work as well. Funny story. My future ex husband and a friend were discussing their time in Korea and experiences near the DMZ. Me, having never been to Korea and generally self absorbed anyway, was wondering wtf is a DMZ. When it was explained, I was like “oh, so it’s like the Neutral Zone in Star Trek.” And my ex husband asked “what military are you in?”
I'm sure they have some actual military name (Strap Assembly, Sleeping Bag, One Each or some shit) but from basic training on everybody called them spaghetti straps. Probably because they tangled easily.
Actually, those are air sacs. They can inflate them to help them float, help insulate their feathers, and improve their aerodynamics, the air sacs are not only on their neck area, breast and wings, but bones as well.
