Now, now. According to someone who knows him really well IRL, this is just an Internet persona. He's not really like this at all.
Has it ever occurred to you that your post count would drop by 2/3 if you subtract all the petty personal shit?
It's like reading a Federal Farmer post, but with performative outrage attempting to cover the stink of white male fragility.
I read that as "Did your mommy not give you a tug when you were a boy?". And thought "That would explain a whole lot.".
While I agree screenwriters for action movies don’t write female characters that must overcome diversity or personal difficulties the same way male characters do. This robs the audience of the opportunity to fully emotionally engage with the protagonist in the same way an audience empathizes with male characters. I do not believe it’s a result of “woke” culture or any bullshit like that. I just don’t believe male writers know how to write female characters. Also, the writer who has no reading comprehension skills continues to malign anyone she deems unworthy - making her word forges own fucked up bitch - and, as I seldom use that word, you understand how strongly I despise her own online persona. How do you even walk and talk like a normal human being and still be so stupid?
A generalization worthy of a much longer discussion, if you can spare a moment from calling one of the most mild-mannered and well-educated posters a dick. WYSIWYG with me. If you have beef with me, bring it. Don't try to sneak it into a thread subtitled "Stand by Your Man."
I dunno... guys like James Bond, Jim Kirk, Hal Jordan, Clark Kent, Bruce Wayne, Tony Stark, they all start out as cool badass dudes and only get cooler and more badass. If you want to just talk Star Wars, Luke and Anakin Skywalker start out with zero Jedi training and end up saving the day in both of their introductory movies. Luke even defeats Darth Vader, the villain that killed his great pilot father! And Han Solo is cool and tough the entire time, his entire arc is about bothering to give a shit about other people.
It certainly isn’t a blanket statement. But it is a growing trend. And there were good female action figures who over came (Sarah Connor) the current writing doesn’t reflect that. I had a difficult time connecting with Captain Marvel. Didn’t even get into Gammorra’s backstory until the second movie - but she’s not the main character and I wouldn’t change any of the first movie anyway.
Using the excuse that you're posting from your phone again? Or was it the vodka in the morning cocoa (should have worn off by now unless you're topping it off)? Odd that the majority of WF posters have no trouble understanding my posts. What do you suppose the problem is?
I get that. I’m talking about Kent as he’s usually depicted before he don’s the cape. In school he’s bullied, he’s a nerd. When he first arrives at the Daily Planet, he’s given fluff pieces and Lois doesn’t respect him much as a reporter. Things like that. He definitely gets a character arc in most iterations.
Correct me if I’m wrong, it’s been over 40 years since I’ve read a comic book, but didn’t early comics depict a young Clark as a non-combatant. Basically, allows schoolmates to bully him because he’d been taught not to fight back?
That’s the way he was depicted in Smallville. I wouldn’t doubt if they ripped that from the comics. It’s also the way they depicted him in the DCAU in the 90s. Also in Superman 2 until he got revenge on that one asshole in the dinner.
I cautioned you about burbling your private life in the RR, but you persist. That said, I prefer humans, not pile drivers. But who am I to judge?
What are you 8 years old? Everyone here can see you are the only poster who brings up UA and i in the red room. No one is fooled by your childishness. Grow the fuck up.
