Not to minimize his accomplishments, but he got 100% in a simulation created by someone with minimal real world experience. That's Boimler's whole thing, he generally excels at the "by the book" stuff while Mariner excels at thinking outside the box. Remember when he was the only person that flourished after the removed buffer time?

Also the Borg Queen was right, Boimler can't possibly be 100% human, even if he thinks he is. That purple hair isn't a human trait, and he's too much of a square to be dying it. :chris:

*He's obviously the son of Fry and Leela, just like Yoda is secretly the child of Kermit and Miss Piggy.

Why do I get the feeling @Bickendan was “this close” to actually doing the deed, but a brief moment of … “maybe I better not” prevailed and he just typed this post instead?

Shame about the censor bar in the Naked Time holosim, or we might have found out if the collar and cuffs match.

I mean, we had MU Boimler's tiny goatee and baby mustache that were very clearly black.

    Alas.... :(

EDIT: Oh wait, I looked again and it's definitely purple facial hair!

That was only a simulation, but maybe something happened to Boimler after he was born? Genetic enhancements, maybe? We saw an MU Bashir that couldn't possibly have been enhanced considering the circumstances, he was a loud punchy asshole that looked basically the same.

Also a part of me really really hopes that Starfleet doesn't keep detailed holoscans of every crewmans genitals that anyone can access and share publicly. :flow:

    So, no comments,eh?

This is honest to God the best episode of Trek since DS9 left the air. It's the "Lower Decks" of Star Trek: Lower Decks. I honestly don't know where the show is going from here in the series finale, and I mean that in the best way possible.

I have to say I have been over Klingon culture for years and felt DS9 ran that into the ground like Voyager did the Borg, but God I loved the Klingon story so much. The Vulcans being dry as hell among one another was funny too.

It's amazing to me that the cartoon parody of Trek has managed to push Trek lore so much more in 2 short seasons than half of Berman era Trek did in an entire 4 to seven year run, but I'm so here for it.

    12/10, highly recommend

I agree! This was by far the best episode of the series so far. It very much reminded me of the best of TNG and DS9. I loved the Vulcan ship and her punishment was to serve on a human ship. Lol. This show definitely elevates Trek and compliments past Trek well. I loved this episode.

Y'know what Easter egg they still have to do?
Have the lower deckers from the TNG episode "Lower Decks" pop up.

And while they're at it, have Ensign Jai pop up.
    As a captain.

I wonder if the Vulcan Mariner-equivalent will be coming to the Ritos. (And I wonder if the show is mocking or embracing Discovery for the Disco shirts)

I took it for granted that it was to introduce some new recurring characters...

That is the most confusing thing I've heard today!!
But yeah, I need one too

I feel like we'll at least see T'Len* again. Like how DS9 and VOY got new additions that changed the dynamics of those shows. She'll make a great addition to the Cerritos crew.

*I think...? I've seen more variations on spelling than Mackenzies in a Mormon kindergarten class but I could've sworn that's what the CC showed me.

The Klingon guy seemed like he'll be showing up again soon too... I mean, he just did a huge favour to the empire unravelling the proxy efforts of his captain... although he was kind of more of a B'oym Luhr

Yeah, the parallels were pretty obvious, weren't they

The more I think about it, what annoyed me about DS9 era Klingons is most of them were so bound by their warped sense of honor beyond all common sense and I was just Done™ with it. Thankfully, with Voyager on the other side of the galaxy, such excursions were few and far between, B'Elanna's angst notwithstanding.

But this kid? Has balls :techman: and B'oym Luhr was right, manipulating another species into fighting their battle is something a Romulan would do. Which I suspect wasn't addressed directly to avoid cutaways to a Romulan lower decks crew :P

I wish I'd saved that meme of Troi and Dax wearing "ENTER" "DEEP" shirts, it was childishly wonderful.
