Maybe, but probably not since @Paladin assured us he will be the among the first to condemn Trump if he did anything wrong.
I've said it before, but the only reason I kind of wish that they would've found Pence is that the Secret Service would've killed many of those rabid shitbags.
Perhaps, but remember, Pence was unwilling to get in the car the Secret Service had waiting for him because he didn't know the driver.
Not because he didn't trust the guy not to defend him, but because he didn't trust him not to evacuate Pence from the area without his authorisation. He knew what a message it would send if the Veep was seeing fleeing.
Maybe. Pence probably already knew that Trump had Tweeted that Pence had "betrayed" Trump when the SS was trying to get him in the car. At that point, not only do you know that your life is in danger from the mob running amok in the Capitol, but you also know that the President is happy to help them. You get in that car, and you have no idea what's going to happen next. Maybe the driver will just sit there, maybe the driver will take off before the full complement of your detail is able to get in the car, maybe the driver will take you someplace safe, maybe the driver will dump you in the middle of the mob. You don't know. You do know that democracy is hanging by the barest of threads and that if you die, then democracy almost certainly will. Doesn't matter if the driver who betrayed you gets immediately ventilated by other members of your SS detail, you're dead, and you have no hope of setting things to right. Doesn't really matter how you spin things, if you get in that car, you're dead. Possibly literally, possibly figuratively, either way, it's not something you want to happen to you.
So this comic who was at the Insurrection and trying to get the idiots backing Trump to incriminate themselves on camera had his video shown at the 1/6th hearings.
I see at least some folk are so invested in Trump that they're claiming Bill Barr was paid off by Dominion, and Ivanka was either sent in by Trump to "fuck with their heads" OR was a CGI deepfake... https://www.huffpost.com/entry/janu...orters-rabbit-hole_n_62adca4ae4b04a61735ce094 The latter does at least point out that Ivanka (and Jared) occupy a spot so deep in the Uncanny Valley anyway that disproving use of CGI could be tricky.
I don't think it'll be just him, though. Judge Luttig (AKA the DMV sloth from Zootopia) was an important witness to have in front of the Committee. Why? Dude was the mentor to Eastman and Ted Cruz, he was also seen as a pipeline for folks to clerk on the Supreme Court (generally winding up working for Thomas). Cruz said that if he became President, he'd nominate Luttig for SCOTUS if he had the chance. The judge who reviewed the emails that the Committee wanted and that Eastman claimed were protected under attorney-client privilege released a whole bunch of them to the Committee saying that they failed the "crime/fraud exemption." (Meaning that they might have contained communications between a lawyer and their client, but they discussed how to commit a crime, so they weren't protected.) I'm thinking that Luttig was put up there as a warning to Cruz and Eastman as to just how serious shit was, and how close the hammer is to falling on them next. I'm reasonably certain that if Eastman and Cruz find themselves being forced to answer uncomfortable questions by the DOJ, they'll spill everything that they know.
If there's anything incriminating in Holder's footage, it's the ultimate "shot ourselves in the foot" moment as it appears Trump's team had little idea Holder was filming or, if they did, how extensive his access was - the whole project seems to have been coordinated by the Trump family (likely Ivanka/Jared?) without informing the White House PR people or the guys running Trump's campaign.
