Many post enlightenment philosophers have brought up the problems with a liberal, democratic, capitalistic society (none of those words should be contributed to modern US politics - read John Locke, Jean Jacques Rousseau, et al) and many have valid and interesting reasoning in their arguments.

The issue isn’t the philosophical ideas, the issue comes when people completely misunderstand both the argument and the counter-argument.

So we didn’t just find out that the origins of Covid are from a lab leak and I didn’t just point out to you that people in the media called people racist for speculating about this? We didn’t find out that the media was working with the FBI to spread misinformation? We didn’t just find out that the Hunter Biden laptop was real and the media lied about it?

Is this new information? The only thing I recall about this is that the conspiracy was that the virus was man-made and a leak was intentional and that wearing masks was some form of control.

I’ve always assumed it was some sort of accidental leak.

A lot of the speculation was indeed hella racist, especially considering that said speculation occured at a time when there was no research to support it.

See, this is a great example of you taking a half truth or a quarter truth and blowing it up into what's basically a lie.

There is a physical laptop that exists on Earth, and that laptop for all intents and purposes might as well be referred to as "the Hunter Biden laptop." I've never seen any media source claim the laptop doesn't physically exist. Not once. What the media has talked about was that the backstory surrounding the laptop seemed highly questionable, and that the files on the laptop showed clear signs of tampering, and that third parties with a partisan agenda had access to the laptop before the authorities took custody of it. Those factors were what led to noted partisan attack network Fox News rejecting the story before Trumps people found a single newspaper willing to publish it.

They shouldn’t be doing it, period.

To put it in police/judicial terms, the chain of custody with that laptop is extremely broken, especially given who's been pushing it as some sort of "gotcha."
