Saw it last night on Broadway. Crude, vulgar, sophomoric and really funny. If you like South Park or are just looking for an excuse to be outraged, I highly recommend it!:danceline:

It did pre pandemic. Picketers carried signs that said “You’ve seen the play, now reead the book!” FWIW my business partner is a LDS and he thinks it’s hilarious. He’s also a South Park fan..so… :clyde:

Multiple people have reported seeing Mormon leaders at performances of it over the years. Some have even admitted to it and have said that they enjoyed it.

When you get down to it, the play isn’t so much about The Church as it is a story of culture clash. If anyone here remembers the post-war movie “Teahouse of the August Moon” you’ll probably get what I’m saying. While Teahouse was much more family friendly, the two were very similar in showing how well-meaning Americans go in thinking they’re going to help those lucky furriners become more like ‘Muricans and end up learning their own lessons. It may be that the Church leaders may have been able to grasp that and they might even have learned something from it. :spock:
