It doesn't have a proper thread, so here it is. First picture. Also, Georgiou will interact with a young Rachel Garret. So, she must be be-bopping around the timeline. https://trekmovie.com/2024/03/27/st...-academy-details-plus-glimmer-of-legacy-hope/
Don't know if she's moving through different eras but I went digging on the reference sites based on what Sean said in his video about the Variety article. So apparently her end of Yesterday's Enterprise is set in 2344, and the actress who played her then was mid-40's ... while the actress in this show is roughly 15 years younger so....what interesting was happening in the late 2320's? The stuff that jumped out at me is... very fucking little in official canon, albeit it's roughly the time Picard graduated from the Academy and got the artificial heart and all that. But if this was going to involve young Picard that secret would be out by now. But in the unofficial timeline... 2327 - Federation first contact with the Cardassians 2328 - occupation of Bajor (there's some Cardassian skullduggery in this era) and there's also this notation: Starfleet Intelligence sends to covert agents, LieutenantAlynna Nechayev and Gwen Jones to Bajor, to investigate the possibility of a Cardassian occupation. However, as the Bajoran government does not reach out for help to the United Federation of Planets, it is decided not to interfere From a Terok Nor novel apparently. This seems fertile ground for a S31 story and I, for one, could dig a Cardassian-Bajor-vaguely DS9 prequel story. 2328 | Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki | Fandom 2329 - Enterprise B presumed lost with all hands. 2332 - Nexus returns, Garrett is given command of Enterprise C ... I could see this also maybe being a point of some interest. In any case one assumes that Carl didn't just plop her into the middle of a crisis but that she's been in this time period some years in order to advance to a position central to the story.
Here’s what’s going to happen, Section 31 will bomb and they’ll blame the “toxic fans” and use that as an excuse to not make Legacy because Kurtzman doesn’t like being upstaged by Terry Metalis.
Choose your own adventure. 1. Take your psychic powers to the blackjack tables. 2. Tell Critical Drinker I told him to go fuck himself. 3. Pick up the baseball sized ruby, and put it in your bag. 4. All of the above.
She seemed to be pretty high up in Section 31 before she disappeared with Discovery. Could be she appears in the middle of a crisis and it turns out she's the only known living member of 31 on Starfleet's radar.
She's either.. 1. Freely be-bopping up and own the timeline. 2. Went back to ENT or pre-ENT to quantum stabilize herself, then went into a.) cryo-stasis, b.) a pattern buffer up to pre-TNG since either of those methods aren't true time travel, and won't scramble her atoms. I lean towards 2. Come to think of it, I can easily imagine her as Section 31's Winter Soldier.
I've never liked Section 31 since it was first introduced to the Trek universe, so not keen on the idea in the first place.
It can't bomb... they're basically making a story around Georgiou which means Michelle Yeoh getting to chew scenery for 100ish minutes. This could turn into the franchise's Deadpool.
"Bane" is Dada Noe played by Joe Pingue. Dada Noe doesn't sound like a nouveau Darth Vader; it sounds like a girl fending off incest. ...okay, that's actually scarier than Vader, come to think of it. Nevermind. https://trekmovie.com/2024/04/01/se...ent-star-trek-new-character-details-revealed/
According to one of the articles @Tuckerfan posted, it's apparently a very minor role and only a nod to the hardcore Trekkies.
I wish Star Trek's PTB weren't making this damn Section 31 show. Section 31 should've been left behind on DS9 & completely forgotten about.
I would have agreed if not for Michelle Yeoh. Michelle Yeoh is like steak sauce to drown out liver. Or cream cheese to drown out fruitcake. Or ignore to drown out UA and Jenee.
I would have though Rachel Garrett was there to give you a hero to root for, but WAB went and peed on that parade.
I'm just reporting what was published in a Variety article. It could be that she plays a larger role but Kurtzman seemed to dismiss the character as fan service. So who knows.
Wait. I just seen that this is a one-shot TV movie rather than a series. That might work a bit better. It's also a new direction which could have a lot of potential if applied to other stories.
