Yeah, it doesn't strike me that the FBI would do a no-knock raid in this instance. I mean, they got the right address
Do you have a source for this? CNN says it was. http://edition.cnn.com/2017/08/09/politics/paul-manafort-search-fbi-russian-interference/index.html
CNN doesn't understand what a no knock raid is or they are intentionally lying. Do you know what a no knock raid is? Law enforcement shows up to your house, kicks in your door, enters house with guns drawn and runs through the house grabbing everyone in the house and putting them on the floor. People, cops, and animals have been killed during no knock raids. It's actually a huge controversy over here in America since the police seem to get the wrong address a lot of times. Oh and they don't knock on your door. They just bust it open. Or they blast through a windows. Not to mention they have a habit of throwing flashbangs into the house while doing a no knock raid. No knock raids are violent events. Did the FBI do this to Paul Manafort? No they did not. We would have heard of it. It would be major news that the FBI felt the need to do a no knock raid on his house. Showing up unannounced is not a no knock raid. In fact most search warrants are done that way. Law enforcement gets the warrant and shows up to the location unannounced until they are knocking on the door saying they've got a warrant. You've got to be a rare person for the government to say, "look tomorrow we will be searching your house with a warrant." In fact looking at the CNN report they call it a no knock raid because of the Washington Post but the Post itself never uses that term. The Post just says the FBI showed up unannounced with warrant in hand and that Manafort cooperated with the FBI search team. Once again showing up unannounced is not the same thing as a no knock raid.
Thank you. They quote several sources (not the Washington Post on this issue, although the placement of that source does imply it infelicitously, as you point out), and are quoted in turn; I haven't been able to find any publication that disagrees with them. Do you have a source for your view?
You haven't found any publication because the ones you look at are all leftist nonsense garbage shit holes more interested in making Trump look bad than actually reporting accurately. And go back and read the rest of my post instead of ignoring it.
Quite possible. Which is why I am asking whether you have any better sources. I did. You make many detailed claims completely at odds with all the reports on the issue I have seen. Which is why I am asking whether you have any better sources. Do I take it that the answer is no?
Right. Sources on the relative speeds of shuttles and light that set that report right are easy to come by. If this is an equally false report, I am sure they will be as easily available in this case.
It's obviously an equally false report. The FBI did search his home. The FBI did show up in the early morning with the search warrant. The FBI did not kick his door in and enter without knocking and conduct a no knock raid. That would have been all over the news. It would be major news. CNN doesn't understand the difference between a no knock raid and showing up unannounced.
No we won't. You'll never know if Trump is bored or what Pence is thinking. You're just writing fan fic.
Not sure of your point here. I don't have a problem with what the FBI did. I only have a problem that CNN is reporting it incorrectly.
I don't have a problem with what the FBI did, either. I just wish their actions applied to the rest of the innocent until proven guilty. Nice edit. As I said, we'll see.
What difference does it make if this was a no-knock raid or not? That's like debating over how many windows the Titanic has while it's sinking. The story here is the raid.
The Titanic's sinking? Those storms on Lake Superior are a bitch! (I'm sure CNN would report the iceberg was in the Great Lakes too)
We'll remember that next time Fox News breaks the news of a bombing while showing a map that labels one country as another.
Again your point makes no sense. The FBI has been requesting documents. Manafort has been turning them over. The FBI then decided to show up to his house with a warrant for more documents. The FBI has done nothing that they wouldn't do if they were investigating you.
Not equivalent. It would be reporting the bombing while getting the amount of ordinance used incorrect. The equivalent to your scenario is the news reporting that the FBI raided someone they didn't actually raid.
The point remains that the news organization is not getting their facts straight. Should that part be the story? No, but it's good to have someone step forward to get the story straight when the media isn't doing their job properly.
Yes, I know I put a lot of faith in anonymous internet posters correcting news stories without providing support for their assertions.
Meanwhile, they've also subpoena'd Manafort's bank records. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...s-mueller-is-said-to-turn-up-heat-on-manafort Cue Zombie arguing for five pages about whether "bank records" means "records that banks hold", "a bank of records, possibly including Slim Shady by Eminem" or "a record of banks, such as the banks of the River Nile".
Well, Trump has finally admitted Russia set out to influence our election results, something every major western intelligence agency confirmed the better part of a year ago, but now he is claiming Putin was helping Hillary and not him!
