Trump Tells Aides He Has Decided to Remove Stephen Bannon https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/18/us/politics/steve-bannon-trump-white-house.html It's about time. I think he's really hurt Trump with bad advice.
Or did he quit - like Trump's business advisory councils did just before Trump said he was disbanding them? Nah, probably not.
Very few people get "fired" from the job. It's all resigning. He was on his way out. One way or the other.
The article from yesterday was quoting Bannon from last Tuesday and he was inviting reporters to the White House three weeks from now. Bannon was bragging how he could never be fired and he never mentioned anything to suggest he was resigning.
https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2017/08/17/politics/bob-corker-criticizes-trump-charlottesville/index.html Even Republican Senators are now saying Trump has not displayed any stability or competence since taking office. That was obvious to anyone who looked at his past before the last election.
A recurring theme regarding those around President Trump is that he does not like parts of his circle who become the story instead of him.
Bannon didn't need a formal position to influence Trump before he took office, he probably doesn't need one to influence him now.
We'll see. Trumps a notorious pussy so unless Bannon resigns he could be there a while. If he does go it will be interesting to see who replaces him.
I can recommend you guys a few Central African shitholes as shining examples of political stability, reputation and clean hands.
He is how Trump got elected. Trump gives a political vioce to nazis and the KKK. Now he will lose his base and wilt in the wind. Over at 4chan they are already crucifying him.
http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/18/politics/weekly-standard-steve-bannon/index.html The same day he got fired Bannon is back in charge of Breitbart and shit talking Trump. I think we can expect a circular firing squad on the right with Bannon seeking to lead the civil war. The rest of us can sit back and enjoy the fire works from a party at war with itself.
Wasn't the reason he hung on so long down to the adage of keeping your friends close, and your potential Hitler clones closer?
https://www.cnbc.com/2017/08/18/ste...e-officials-axios.html?recirc=taboolainternal Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon is "going to war" with officials within the Trump administration, Axios reported Friday. "He's going back to Breitbart News … he plans to go 'thermonuclear' is the word they're using against the more moderate elements of the White House, the ones that have come to be known as the globalists, the president's economic advisor Gary Cohn," Axios Executive Editor Mike Allen said a short time later in an interview with CNBC's "Power Lunch."
There's clearly a very intense power struggle going on between insular nationalists and imperialist internationalists within the Trump administration. The latter are winning but that isn't "good" since although they might be less opposed to immgration and so forth, they represent the dominance of the military over government and a confrontational attitude towards North Korea and others.
