So do people what chat back? It appears that is something we could bring back relatively easily. But would people actually use it? And is there anyone that wants to make running it their thing (pssst, @shootER only releases the boring threads, there are like 500 AWESOME threads in the shelter, where we diss on everyone, have knockdown drag out fights, share secrets, there are tons of shelter whores and manwhores posting naked pics, we release all sorts of dirt on posters there, it's really unbelievable and YOU really want access!).
What about, instead of an IRC channel, one of those little chat apps that's integrated into the site? It shows up when you visit and you can either participate or not as you choose. There's one on http://myedmondsnews.com.
I won't deny, I do feel a little bit smug watching standalone features getting casually thrown away and forgotten. This is probably why wordforging is not so healthy for me... Does anyone remember the scrolling browser status 'come chat now ==== blah' javascript I'd enable? Fun times
I was never a big fan of chat. Although if we could get some of the Wordforge divas to do naked video chat, that I'd log in for.
Yes, it is. There are a couple of chat application options we could employ, from the very simple, to the complex.
Well, I've never been that into chat before, but if you manage to make it really, ridiculously complicated...
Is there anyway to just have a window that's open on the main page, on the right underneath the profile pics, who's online, etc?
I loved the chat, until the thing arbitrarily decided not to work for me, for some technical reason a second grader could no doubt have solved if i'd had one handy, but which only frustrated me. The integrated chat ap sounds like a great idea.
Yes but some of us divas fall well short of "hot"...might need to be a bit more specific, lest something unsettling happens
That's better than regular IRC because everyone would see it where as most people would never actually use a separate IRC room.
