That really was a helluva trailer. I wish they had decided to use Gary Mitchell for the Kirk stuff this season, no one was so VERY thrilled with him in the finale that it could only be Kirk. (also, I want it documented that the navigator is Gary's sister... which Kirk could do if you ever get them in the same room) But my mild annoyance at a (miscast) Kirk being around aside, everything about this season looks absolutely incredible.
Why is Chapel away from everyone else, and in black & white? Is that just a random artsy choice, or does that signify something? Is she going to leave? Somewhere along the line, she has to bow out so that "what are little girls made of?" is her return. Edit- Or, it could be as simple as it's symbolic of a standalone episode she's in.
Note the barrier is between her and Spock (and Uhura, which probably has implications). We've seen her and Spock getting hot and heavy in the trailers, yet we know they're at "unrequited" by TOS. Something's gonna drive a wedge. That, or if you ask a computer for a range of colours for a graphic, one of them is gonna be grey.
I noticed that right away. I think they did it to make the nerds go crazy and speculate. They're just fucking with us.
Seeing the real-life version of the uniform bumps it higher on the rankings list -- comes close to the TOS Movie uniforms imo
OH DEAR GOD NO If I want to deal with dumb love triangles, I'd use P+ to watch their stupid soap operas. The impending triangle between those two in T'Pring is already on thin ice as it is, plus Spock and Uhura seem to have big mentor/mentee vibes. Noping outta that.
I know, @AlphaMan , I maybe should be duplicating the LD crossover stuff to the LD thread, but it happens on SNW, so I'm trying to keep it logical and simple.
I remember the producers saying they were open to "other" crossovers, so unless it's a few episodes of Spock and Uhura completely avoiding eye contact after meeting their Kelvinverse counterparts, I don't need those two being shipped at all. Meanwhile, poor SNW Kirk suffers from all sorts of body dysmorphia after meeting Chris Pine.
"ad astra per aspera" "to the stars through difficulties"? Una's trial? #4 sounds like a callback (forward?) to the fantasy planet.
I will tolerate no ill words towards Steve! He (and Trey Crowder) are my indispensable dudes. Oh course, while I don't hate it, I'm entirely meh on LD myself (not my style, Trek or not) so that's not the wedge that would make me feel some kinda way against Steve.
