Possibly because there are so many donors in the $200-or-less bracket, with more coming in daily, that it's a moving target?

Wow...if Hillary would have gotten further, revealing her donors would be easy....just hand over a Chinese phone book.

Yeah. Right. And there's no donations coming in to McCain's campaign daily, right?

Or is it just so important to protect Jockim Alberton's and Test Person's identities and locations.

Oh, so you weren't suggesting that Obama has too many donations coming in on a daily basis to be forthcoming with his donor list?

So....if McCain's got them coming in on a daily basis too, what's his excuse for being able to disclose?

"Excuse for being able to disclose"? That doesn't even make sense.

I tell you what...as soon as you get Wordforge back from Elwood, you can dictate how I, or anyone else, opts to use the board (including using rep). When that happens, I'll gladly play by your rules.

Until that time, you'll just have to pine for the days when you could summarily ban people whose opinions and presence on the board you didn't like.

    Exactly.

Makes just as much sense as

McCain didn't really have an excuse, did he? He just disclosed.

By the way, Margaret, I asked a question, and since you are now in the business of answering questions and refuting the myth, let me run it by you again, just in case you missed it.

Bull - all OBL has to do is say, "this is the cutoff for one month ago." Or "two weeks ago", or whatever. What's he trying to hide?

No, an "excuse" is not something one offers upon making a disclosure. Basic language comprehension skills involved there.

Precisely. Which is why your use of the word "excuse" was inappropriate.

You've also attributed this quote incorrectly. When you address it to me, I'll reply.

There are so many donors in the under $200 bracket that even before the general election started they were breaking spreadsheet programs.

As for McCain, since he's taking public financing, he, having hit his caps, isn't allowed to raise any more money for the campaign and can release his entire campaign donor list at once without worrying about having to issue updates. You might even say that releasing his list is a meaningless stunt designed to put pressure on Obama to continually make releases.

He could do that. Then Bear would start a thread bitching that the list wasn't current enough.

I'm curious, though. Is this a real interest in the under-$200 donors? Because I'd think the Big Money donors would have far more perceived clout, and hence be more worthy of scrutiny. JMO.

Yup. McCain took public matching funds, which means he's cut off from raising any more campaign funds at this point. I'm surprised to see you picked up on that.

McCain is using general RNC money to supplement his campaign funds...that's why McCain's ads now are required to snarl at "congressional liberals" rather than just Obama. Sadly (for him), casting such a nebulous net hopelessly dulls the impact against his own opponent.

    Well, apostle, either Sokar:

    • Interprets "laughing at the poster who didn't even realize his own candidate took public matching funds" as "agitation"

      or

      Is calling Petey a liberal

      or

      Doesn't understand what "agitation" means

You consider yourself one of his BFFs, even though he's told you he has no interest in you, so which one do you think it is?

30 posts later and Garamet still hasn't answered the fucking question.

    What a surprise.
