One reason is that there is very little one can argue with in the letter.

    Lou Pritchett you scare me,

You scare me because you're an executive at one of America's biggest companies and the best way you can think to communicate your ideas with the Obama Administration is... a mass market email campaign ?

Thank God the Japanese don't export soap.

Yeah, guys who start out at the bottom and work their way to the top are frightening.

What really frightens me is when the media, like the NY Times, won't print any dissention against The Obama, forcing citizens like Pritchert to resort to the internet.

I'm not overly concerned. At the rate Obama is tanking he's well on the way to assassination, perhaps more so at this juncture in contemporary history than any other. I just hope that when Biden takes the oath he finishes it with "fuck yeah" when he thinks the cameras are turned off.

Asassination is some pathetic, Third World terroristic bullshit.

Then you haven't been paying attention. There are dozens of informative biographies of Obama, not including the one Obama wrote himself.
You're not the IRS. Regardless, this low-level conspiracy bullshit isn't worth dignifying with a serious response.
    :dayton:

Obama spent four years in another country, between the ages of six and ten.
Nor have plenty of other Presidents. Why weren't you scared of them?
Nor have plenty of other Presidents. Why weren't you scared of them?
    Opinion, not fact.
I'm not sure which radicals you're talking about, but Obama did denounce Jeremiah Wright at least once.
America isn't perfect, and sometimes America deserves some of the blame. Such is life.
By European standards, Obama is a right-winger. FYI.
True. Or false? I forget the exact details.
How is it "responsible" to tear apart your own backyard to get at a non-renewable resource when there are other options available?

I'd rather leave such reserves for when we're desperate.
Is this opinion, or is there an actual capitalist goose no one told me about?

And as far as the "highest standard of living" goes, the Human Development Index claims America is #13, behind Norway, Canada, Australia, and many others. The Mercer Quality of Living city rankings don't mention America until #29. Might I suggest pulling you head out of the sand?
If you have to put it in quotes, it's not really what you're calling it.
Considering how little the Democratic Supermajority managed to accomplish, I wouldn't say that's quite true.
Which is why he put Hillary in his cabinet and kept Bush's defense secretary, right?

    Regardless, opinion, not fact.
    Hyperbole, not fact.
    Hyperbole, not fact.
Obviously, he should be... supporting them?
    Extremely vague opinion, not fact.
That's likely because you're hysterically paranoid, and possibly senile.

Retiring twenty years ago was probably a good call.

So he starts the letter off by claiming he knows nothing about Obama, and then proceeds to tell us everything he sees wrong with Obama. Well Lou, you're a dumbass.

If it happens, please, God, let it be somebody from NORTH of the Mason Dixon Line this time. :bang:

I could even go for Biden finishing out the term. He may be stupid, but he's too goofy to get anything done. With luck, the gridlock will prevent much further destruction of the Republic.

Then again, Obama could become a martyr. Maybe even get his 72 virgins like the rest of the muslims. :diacanu:

He's got a valid point. We know some, but not much about The Obama as compared to other presidents. Seeing what The Obama has done wrong SINCE becoming POTUS is a different thing.

And a double dumbass on you. :muad2:

Meh. It has some interesting points, some exaggerated points, some points that are merely emotional rhetoric, some downright false points, and no real content or proposals.

Actually, it's a lot like Obama...

Why not? Aren't they supposed to let BOTH sides air their opinions? or is that only if someone like Bush is POTUS?

    Bad, bad, bad, bad.

If President Obama were assassinated (ignoring the utter immorality of such an act) his memory would be do deified that Congress probably with the support of the American people, in acts of contrition would pass every half assed proposal President Obama ever made into law overnight.

Then there would probably be a movement to chip Thomas Jefferson's face off of Mount Rushmore (slaveowner) and replace it with the annointed one.

    I might be exaggerating.

    But only barely.

This point is well worth noting.

If Mr. Obama were to be assassinated, the likeliest outcome would be to ensure Democratic domination of the federal government for quite some time to come, due to the inevitable backlash against conservatives - justified or not.

Sure. If the writer had written a piece (even an opinion piece) that tried to back up some of the statements that were made in a logical manner, it would be fit for publication. As it is, it's an overlong "top ten" list and not suitable for any serious news organization--which I assume is why no so-called "conservative" papers printed it either.

You know, I've seen the same type of letter written from the other side of the aisle and it got published, without any back up of the statements in any kind of manner.
So, no, I'm sorry; the paper is showing its bias.

It's very very unlikely to happen actually.

Assassinating a US president is a fuckton harder now than it once was. There's so many layers of ground security, anti-air-attack defences, et al around him. Hell they probably even had hydrophones in the Potomac on inauguration night lest someone scuba assassin try breaching the perimeter that way.

Just about anything you could think of, rest assured they've thought of it also. You can bet they have groups of experts, military and special forces personnel and vets who get asked to try and come up with ways of assassinating the potus just so that they can work out how to negate the possibility of any given method or strategy succeeding.
