The fact that such a disparate group of posters could join forces in what I'd characterize as a genuine libertarian action that staff was unable or unwilling to engage in. You weren't expecting a concerted effort from across the political and philosophical spectrum, and it makes you nervous. You thought you knew every member's strengths and weak points and how to exploit them. Now you'll have to rethink that. And three of the four clowns (and, no, apostle's not the fourth) you've counted on to "school the libruls" and/or express the biases you won't risk putting in print have run off. For the third time in this thread... BULLSHIT. That's like saying that just b/c you don't believe in offensive wars, you can't respond to an aggressor with force. ESPECIALLY in this case where all that was done was that the toy was taken away from children who were abusing it. Here's what I think happened: Sokar may or may not have noticed that apostle was heading into the red, but he sure as hell sat up when he saw what was happening to KIRK, and he figured he'd better do something. Now, he'd been mocked before for the number of times he'd run to the Help Desk bitching about one thing or another, so he wasn't going to make that mistake again. Instead, about a week or so ago, he started relentlessly peppering staff with PMs, email, messages on Facebook, etc., demanding that they DO SOMETHING about the mean ol' posters picking on him. The goal now is to get him to stop, by any means necessary.

It's just a hypothesis. I know it's apostle and KIRK's usual technique, and I know Sokar's been ripped on for whining in the HD, so what would be the next logical step for ? No way of testing the hypothesis, but it's fun to think of him bitching and moaning behind the scenes...

No, sorry. Recognising behaviours that exist and are obvious is one thing. Inventing shit from nowhere for the purposes of embelishing the incident and tarring someone further is no on, whoever it is. If that is the sort of thing they do, it's hardly the moral high ground for you to do the same.

Okay. It was just a thought. I'm prepared to let it go now. Just one thing I want to be very clear on: I'm not criticizing staff here. Lanz's governing mode has always been hands-off, and that's fine. In fact, I'd suggest it encourages independent thought, and actions like the recent one. Also, with the exception of Tamar, staff have let this thing play out without either participating or trying to stop it, and IMO they're to be commended for that.
... The notion I'm on Sokar's side in this is complete fiction. Just like the rest of the crap you just posted.
