I'm enjoying my 3DS but so far I've seen maybe one title that used all the DS's functionality.

But why would they do this? Those two games SELL consoles. Same with Pokemon. They could put out the shittiest console ever, and so long as those three games are available for it, people will buy.

Nintendo has never been a company that sells their consoles as a loss leader to make up for it in software sales. Sony and M$ have done that in the past, with varying results. Nintendo has always sold their consoles for a profit. So long as they can continue to make money with their consoles, I don't think we'll ever see a Zelda or Super Mario Bros. for other game consoles.

Because the day will come when Nintendo won't be able to make money on their consoles.

If they could turn a profit on the GameCube, they can profit off anything. Just saying.

I'm just saying that such an anecdote means nothing whatsoever. After all, even Sega "turned a profit" with the Dreamcast, and as we all know, Sega is now a software company.

Wonder if they're the same "experts" that figured the Game Gear would kill the Game Boy in sales...

No... These are people who have a financial stake in Nintendo and they believe that the Wii was successful in getting a lot of non-traditional gamers to buy the console. Since then, they believe that this group of people are content to play the free to 99¢ games on the Android and iPhone. They believe that Nintendo's future is in it's software and not it's console development.

So in other words, Nintendo was focusing on a bunch of tough sells, and they turned out to be . . . tough sells. ;)
