SC 17 Utah 14 in the PAC-12 inaugural.

SC had a lot of chances to put it away early and kept coughing up the ball. It didn't have to be a nail biter but it was- went down to the very end.

SC: 2-0. Better an ugly win than a loss. :marathon:

    GO BLUE!

The Michigan game was intense! About 3 or 4 reversals in the last half hour....

Corvallis got shut out by Wisconsin, 0-35. Good job, Beavers :garamet:

On the other hand, Eugene stomped Nevada 69-20. Go Ducks!

And surprisingly enough, Portland State, my alma matter, actually won a game. But since their conference don't count for shit, that's as much as I have to say about that :)

    a houseboat in Sausalito.

Don't get me wrong, I like our National Championship and everything, but this whole 'Offense bails out the Defense' is unsettling to me. What happened to consistently having one of the best defenses in the nation and then spicing it up with some great running backs?

Having to listen to games by myself, over the internet, with headphones (in a tent with other people) with a Fanta I stole from the DFAC (we get one soda per meal, I grabbed an extra one) and a packet of Oreos instead of having a viewing party, lots of beer, game food and friends sucks. :/

    Dang Auburn!!!!

I picked them in my Yahoo College Pick Em and had them down for 17 confidence points. They just killed my week.

If it makes you feel any better, people are already calling for our entire defensive coaching staff to be fired.

That's a little over the top IMO, but understandable. Even with 8 starting sophomores on Defense, you can't blame the piss poor performance today solely on our youth. Today's performance was just pathetic. We're an SEC team, DAMMIT. Defense is supposed to be our bread and butter. And against a non-conference team?!?! Today was just embarrassing, both for ourselves and our conference.

In the comments of one of the arguments someone said that this was the most yardage ever given up by an SEC team?!?!? That can't be correct can it?

What can I say, I'm pissed off, bored, and felt like throwing more wood on the FB fire that is brewing over this game. I give you my new FB AV:

In other news, Oregon murdered Missouri State.
And Oregon State had the good sense to have a bye-week instead of embarrassing themselves again.

Besides always playing on my birthday, besides knowing that (IIRC) TN has only beaten FL once in the last 20 years, its always great to see TN get stomped just because Rocky Top is so fucking annoying.

Oh and Ga, your time is coming bitches.

    Boomer Sooner. :)

I love the muted reaction from the ESPN types, there's nothing that can spoil their day like OU winning a big game, especially against a flashy Florida team.

As for OSU, it's the same old story. Decent offense, no defense. If Tulsa can run up 33 on them without their best player, they don't stand a chance against a real offense.

Mizzou stomped Nobody State, er...I mean Western Illinois...69-0. Next week, @ Oklahoma. I do not predict a similar outcome.

Now that's the sure sign of a sad, pathetic team. When you've got to look ahead to beating Georgia and it being the highlight of your whole year.

Listen, man. We had to go trolling for a middle school team that wouldn't beat us up too badly this weekend. I wonder how much of the weight room we had to sell to attract them, though.

Besides, it's not like you lizards haven't beaten us regularly for the last dozen years or so anyway. Do y'all miss Tebow that bad? You can always watch reruns of him running interference for a real receiver.

It wouldn't be the College Football Thread without well thought out insights and predictions from The Flashlight.

The day after the game of course. :bergman:

How's this for insight? Against 3 subpar squads, the cowgirl defense has given up 81 points. If they can't stop the juggernaut that is Louisiana Lafayette, how are they going to stop a real team, starting this weekend vs. the traitorous Aggies?

How's this for a prediction? Cowgirls lose this Saturday, they lose the Bedlam game, and at least two other games this season against teams that have at least an average defense. The cowgirls will not finish the season ranked in the top 20. :bailey:

Yeah, you got me, I've been totally pumping up Oklahoma State this year. We're contenders baby!

    Oh yeah...

That still doesn't address your consistent front running status from year to year. Seriously, where were you last week? I even mentioned that game, yet you were strangely silent until the Sooners got the job done.

Admit it, you bought a shiny new paperclip university hat Sunday morning didn't ya?
