http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/44565575/ns/politics-decision_2012/#.TnYpZ8x_cTA Now here's a particularly interesting story. It may or may not mean much for the 2012 election, but it's definitely a sign of things to come: the straw poll results indicate that a large plurality of GOP officials (the story says party members, but others are saying it's party officials) in California have been replaced by Ron Paul supporters. It's a good start in reforming the GOP for the better.
I'm not a Ron fan as many here know but I wonder what the MSM and the Republican party will do if he pulls a upset in the first couple primary elections?
This article is from MSNBC. It's also showing up on CNN, Fox News, The San Francisco Chronicle, and The Sacramento Bee (the last two being major newspapers in California). So you would lose that bet.
Riiiiight. Where they'll have Romney on along with a half dozen talkings to talk about his Romney-care stuff or what he thinks of Perry's stand on this or that. They'll mention Paul won the straw poll and then drop it like a hot potato. Watch and see what happens.
Because he knows a third party will elect your messiah to a second term and no one except kool-aidholics like you wants that.
Paul's people are known for being good at ginning up a couple of hundred supporters to crash straw polls. It's just the kind of stunt they do. It produces polls results with about as much credibility as your average internet poll and it never translates into broader support for Paul. If the media is finally catching on that it's a stunt that doesn't reflect broader support for Paul, good for the media.
I don't have a messiah, but you're essentially admitting that all the media coverage in the world can't help Paul be anything more than what he is...a repository for the party of "it's always somebody else's fault." Why exactly is he running again?
Your talking to the wrong guy. I've never been a Ron supporter. His foreign policy is stupid, dangerous, and has a dose of anti-Israel.
Well, that's because 24 hour TV news is overwhelmingly horrible and no one should watch it ever. I linked you to news articles, where actual news is reported and not just regurgitated opinions masked as news.
Good news, but it still doesn't mean much. I would say his chances of getting the nomination are still about equal to the chances of someone other than Obama being the nominee for the Democrats. IOW, not significant enough at this point to get all excited about. But I'll still vote for him, write-in if I have to (which I almost certainly will).
