Here's a question for you: In a season where the NFC East teams and AFC East teams are playing each other, how in the hell do you not schedule the Giants/Jets game on 11 September? :wtf:

Or at least Washington against one of the NY teams at the New Meadowlands.

I'm guessing their "reasoning" was to pit one of the New York teams against "America's Team" (:dayton:).

I still think Jets/Giants would've been a much better matchup.

The Redskins may be better than I thought in whipping the Giants. But not much of a running game tonight.

And Baltimore over the Squealers! What a beatdown.

Reading the reports on the Seahawks - 49ers game. While it was an ugly game, it appears not all the blame can go on Tarvaris Jackson.... 14 points on special teams.. really?!?!?

Unreal. Leave it to Dallas to lose in such a spectacular fashion.

My disappointment is offset to a great degree by the assraping that the Steelers got today courtesy of the Ravens. :techman:

Don't ever count the Jets out until the clock runs down. I've seen them do this more times than I can count.

That said, if they want to make it to the Super Bowl and win it, they've got to play consistently good from the opening kickoff instead of these dramatic comebacks.

That was a great game to watch if your a Jets fan with really low blood pressure. Lotsa fun, but I really hope they manage to play some defense and run the ball this season. They're not going to have Tony Romo's terrible decision making to bail them out every game.

As much as I hate the Jets, I'm still calling them to go to the Super Bowl, but the Eggles will beat them. :bergman:

Justin Bieber apparently had a great game last night.ยน

    1. My best friend, a rabid Jets fan, was watching t.v. with his 5 year old daughter after dinner a little while back. Flipping through the channels they landed on the ESPYs, where a picture of Brady in uniform was on the screen. His daughter, seeing the picture, asked "Justin Bieber plays football?"

It was my friend's proudest moment as a parent so far.

Fun, sloppy, ugly first week. The rust of the lockout and the lack of off-season workouts really showed. Tons of dropped passes, missed blocking assignments and bad tackling. Especially on special teams. 3 KO's and 4 punts returned for TD's in one week!

Big wins for the Bears and my fantasy team. Thank you Wes Welker!

It's time to fire everyone on the Dolphins defense and start over. This is going to be a real bad season.

Woof - the Walking Wounded play on Monday Night. The quixotic Rams had the QB hurt, lost their star running back after 1 play against the eagles, lost their leading WR and CB for the season.

The Giants have a depleted secondary losing their 1st round draft pick before the season started and losing their best cover guy in week 1. They are also missing Justin Tuck and Osi Uminyiora, two excellent defensive lineman.

Injuries are up this year thanks to the offseason hijinks.

Luke McCown had one of the worst days I've ever seen a quarterback have. 6 of 19 for 59 yards, 4 picks, and a safety. It was a thing of beauty.

The Chiefs, by the way, seem to have opened a can of Whoop Ass on themselves. Who thought they could actually have a worse week 2 than week 1? With how bad they've been and how quickly they're losing players, the Chiefs have to be the current favorite in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes.

I'd be shocked if KC won more than two games this year. They look like a beer league team, and the only real threat they had on offense is done for the year.

I liked Detroit coming into this year. Tons of young talent on both sides of the ball. One could say the same thing about the Bills. But Washington is a shock. I thought that team was going nowhere slowly.

Don't worry, Washington's still going nowhere slowly. Rex Grossman will revert to mean Rex Grossman performance levels, and not all the Skins' games are against the NFC West and teams with decimated secondaries.

And Detroit is for real. People mostly have been being quite silly in their evaluation of the Detroit offense. In particular, while Stafford has been injured a lot his first two years he's looked good, improved notably, and the injuries aren't the kind that should should make people think he's injury prone. All this woo-woo about how they'll be good if he can stay healthy is quite silly. There's no particular reason to believe he's less likely than any other quarterback to stay healthy.
