Why a mod is interfering with posts in the Red Room?

Yeah we are being assholes towards Anc but IMHO he deserves it. (but I'm not sure if Chup is putting those images for Anc or Muad Dib --- probably Muad Dib)

We are keeping it in the Red Room and there is no rule against this so why is Order2Chaos cutting out our posts from the threads and shoving them into a new one?

Edit: And we are keeping it only to threads that Anc started. We aren't touching anyone else's threads because they aren't the problem.

Let the room self moderate. Anc was asked nicely several times to knock that shit off. So let it self moderate.

Well irrespective of motivation, it's still posts in a thread and I don't see why things have suddenly changed and certain mods think they have the right to come along and chop threads up at whim.

I remember the shitstorm that ensued when I dared merge some of Dayton "I hate Abrams Trek", in which I was given a telling off by the rest of the mods. So is it now possible to chop up threads as you like as long as you're hiding up Lanzman's arse?

You're breaking pages with over-wide quote pyramids with images. Loading the thread on an iPhone crashes Safari due to the number of large images. That's NOT cool.

The way the images are being quoted breaks the tables, makes threads incredibly hard to read, and even impossible to load for some users.

That same "everything else" clause is what is being used here.

I'd like to report that I've been having trouble loading certain threads from a Windows XP/Dell PC due to ridiculous quote pyramids and page stretching images.

The problem got to be bad enough that I actually had to put two posters that I like on ignore.

Sorry Zombie and Muad Dib, but "board breaking" shenanigans is where I draw the line.

It's not just iphones. Too many large images freeze my phone (Samsung gravity-t) as well. "Memory full" and all that.

A lot of people here post from their phones, or from computers with slow connections.

When I was mod I was told you couldn't use this provision.

What has changed? An answer, rather than a cowardly avoidance, would be most welcome.

The bolded part is your problem.

1) Look up what a computer is.

2) Why is that relevant? A significant portion of the board routinely access it from either low powered computers or mobile devices. The board software is designed to work on them as well. If people are spamming images in a way that the board software simply isn't designed to handle then it's the right thing to do to stop that happening.

This isn't an out there thing, there are plenty of boards where in the default options they will not let you create posts with too many images or with images beyond a certain resolution. Here those options have been left open assuming people will use the feature sensibly.
