In relation to some current issues, I thought it would be interesting to see how people access the board/

I used my mediocre laptop at home, my slow work computer at work, and my smart-ish phone when in between.

...I just realized how depressing that is. :(

What's the difference between a high end pc/mac and a low end pc/mac?

The pc at work is ... well, it's work - how the hell would I know what they paid for it? it works, that's all I know.

the macbook at was not inexpensive, but it wasn't the most expensive macbook available.

It's not really a clearly defined line, basically think of it as a "Is it a relatively modern machine?" question.

Um...it's packing more power than I've ever had...or in some cases need, but...there were at least three levels of Hate-Fuck-Hot-Rod models above this one...

The difference between a high end pc/mac and a low end pc/mac will be processing power and throughput. Price is just what the purchaser paid.

I access the board primarily from my laptop, using FF6 and Google Chrome. Coming in a close second, my iPad using Tapatalk OR Safari. Coming in a close third, my iPhone using Tapatalk OR Safari. Coming in a close fourth, my home PC. Coming in a close fifth, my wife's laptop. Coming in a close sixth, your mom.

Got to love it. This is the second time in the past few weeks that mods have run into the Red Room to ask for approval votes. I wonder what prompted it?

The outcome of your vote is irrelevant. What you wonderful WF colon inhabitors don't see is that there is clearly enough of an issue for you to go running to your polls in the first place. This shows that not only is it possible to manipulate the over senstive, but also that popularity votes don't the dissatisfied are cured and wiped away. Maybe if you were able to just discuss the issue like a man (i.e. answering questions put to you), a "love me, love me" thread would not ba called for.

It's not a love me poll, check the post I made a minute ago in the Help Desk.

When I claimed that lots of posters accessed the board from mobile devices you asked for numbers, and I was curious to see if the assumption was correct on my part.

I access Wordforge by one of a few different user names and passwords with differing levels of access depending on what shenanigans I feel like getting involved in that day.

I never asked for numbers. I asked for examples of the board "breaking".

It was you who told me I wanted numbers and then ran off to post this thread....

....and, I might add, that you are not doing too well based on the poll results so far (and, to be fair, I voted for all the mediums I use for access, not just the ones that suit the picture debate - can you say you did the same?).

I since posted in that same thread that claim was an assumption on my part based on impressions I had gotten, and linked you to this thread I created to get an idea of figures.

That doesn't say I want the figures. That says "Bailey, of you already have the figures post them".

In otherwords it says "don't make bold statements unless you have the proof to back it up". Or are you saying that running a poll after you have made bold assertions is the correct way to make your bold assertions?

Yes, but your statement was based on yoru already having the knowledge. Why do you need to run a poll after the fact? I though you already knew. I mean, who makes a statement like yours without already havng the facts and figures to hand?

That's a straight up lie, see my quoted post from you above. As for examples of the board functionality being broken, it's a fact that nested tables full of big images break the formatting. We also had two different members in that thread posting that they were having issues loading the threads being spammed up. What would make you happy, sticking a camcorder on a dozen different examples and posting youtube videos of what happens to them?

I said a significant number of members use non-traditional ways to access the board, a claim based on the fact that I have seen posts from plenty of users in the past either outright stating they use mobile browsers, or with one of those dodgy "posted from iphone/tapatalk/whatever" lines appended to their post.

You asked for precise figures, which I never claimed to have, but since I was interested to know I created this poll both to satisfy my own and your curiosity.

Yes I can, the poll is public so you can see all the options I voted for.

The poll doesn't take into account things like Tapatalk. Many of the folks here using mobiles use Tapatalk.

Ah, so you admit that you posted your assertion before you had any proof?

A couple of faggots complaining about the board "breaking" on their iPhones does not constitute proof that any damage is done to a standard internet connection.
