I haven't noticed the condescension from Anc, but I have noticed the acronyms - most come from people who have never been in the military. Like I said, most posters here no more military acronyms than I do (I didn't care to learn them then, and I don't care to learn them now), so I was surprised to find everyone jumping on Anc about it now.

Well obviously some teachers are meaner then others.

There are still a dozen others who could answer any questions.

And I'd still answer them. Nicely.

It may be a military thread, but the majority of posters in this forum are civilians.

If you want to teach and inform about modern military structure and doctrine, you won't find anyone on this board who is more interested than I am. Where you're losing it is by acting like a condescending ass.

Nurses don't normally deal with ventilators. That's what we have Respiratory Therapists for. That's their area of expertise. The first time I ever took a class on vents as a new nurse, it was taught by Respiratory Therapists and they came out of the gate talking over our heads about PEEP, PIP, Vte, BPAP, CPAP, etc. All of us nurses were looking at each other like . We were lost through the whole class. Those terms are common, everyday lingo to the therapists, but not to us.

All of us walked out of the class feeling like it had been a total waste of time. We didn't get anything out of it. Later, I took another class on vents where the instructor actually did some teaching instead of spouting technobabble and now I can and do operate a ventilator.

So if you want to teach, Anc, teach.
