I doubt anyone meant to interfere with the board functionality for anyone. But, now everyone knows that can happen maybe another form of self-moderation can be used that will only be an issue for the target, instead of innocent bystanders.

I just read the thread. Sorry, there was only one request for clarification and that was from apostle's sock puppet. Since he seems to be oh-so-knowlegable about everything else in the military, can't say I blame Anc for responding the way he did.

The people doing that image spamming have been around for a long time, they know very well what image spamming can do to some posters board functionality. It's not like we haven't had threads on it several times before, albeit usually regarding image spamming in rep comments.

Yes. At least 10 percent of the threads on wordforge are full of military acronyms (Anc isn't the only guilty party). When it's something that I'm interested in finding out more, I usually google it. If not, I just skim past it or not open the thread.

The problem isn't the acronyms. The problem is he throws out dozens of them and then doesn't want to say what they are or how they work together. What is the armament for an ODA and MSOT? How do they work together? What are they in the larger scheme of things? Other posters wouldn't tell people to Google it or to look up three month old posts to see what the acronym stands for.

He's also got one hell of a "I'm superior to you" attitude in how he talks down to other posters like they are beneath him and that attitude extends to his other posts as well not just the acronym ones.

Anc wouldn't explain for anyone. It's generally accepted that it's the person who posted some information that is responsible for making sure it's understandable. Demanding that others research your post to understand it is the height of inconsiderate.
