Given the trial and current efforts to extradite Amanda Knox, Italy really should be orange or red in that picture. State sponsored terrorism against tourists for shits and giggles is a bigger danger that's more difficult to avoid than random thugs on the street.

Just speaking of my own experiences while not really giving a shit what some map says. Everything doesn't have to be so literal - it was just a conversation, chill out.

Why avoid some places in Japan? I found Japan to be very open and friendly to foreign visitors. I like how Cuba is rated safe though. :libertystatue:

People got to get the hell out of Canada. It's why they travel so much. We got everything we need right here in the USA, and can drive there. Fuck a bunch of damn countries who speak that damn gibberish. Who the fuck needs that headache on a vacation.

    Except maybe Okinawa. :bergman:

I'd guess it has to do with crime rates generally being higher in heavily urbanized areas, and Japan has some pretty heavily urbanized areas.

There are a few places that won't allow foreigners--there's still a bit of xenophobia in certain places in Japan. But they'll be polite and shoo you away. Basically, you leave them alone, they'll leave you alone.

One place in the world I was traveling domestically (it's listed as safe in this map) dand they didn't even ask for ID! Not my passport, DL, nothing.

Only thing they checked is my preprinted boarding pass, and I mean I look like my name I guess, but still, went to two different cities and then back and never asked for ID once.

That's quite broad right there. You can get murdered in Switzerland as well as you can survive North Korea ;)

Just because the map was produced in Canada doesn't mean Canada shouldn't get rated too.

Can't seem to copy CS' s rep comment on this phone, but between the two infamous rape incidents and the score of stupid shit done by [-] the Marines [/-]the military stationed there, it's no big surprise they aren't happy with Americans.

Stay home and get place in your own state. Spend the money in your own community. Why give it to foreigners that probably hate us anyway? Ohyeah, and Canada? Isn't that northern mid-west?

This map is based on Canadian standards, not US standards. Keep that in mind.

That's an important observation. Of course a lot of these places are dangerous for a limp wristed sissy.

Is there a way to just automatically append this image to every EP post. It would save us all a great deal of time.

If you really want a greasemonkey script to replace or add to his signature that should be possible.

I don't like visiting a dry county, much less a dry country. What kind of sick culture, out side of Baptists and Muslims, would deprive a man of a fine whiskey?
