On the base? His goal is to require every American over the age of four to carry 24/7.

There were 12 shooters, and they all shot themselves. Or each other.

I wonder if it isn't now standard operating procedure to announce a second gunmen EVEN IF THERE IS NO EVIDENCE FOR ONE, just in case there IS a second one, so that people will be more on guard and/or that the second shooter will believe he's being pursued and get flushed out.

According to the FBI, it was this guy. :diacanu:

The mug is from a prior firearm-related arrest.

The FBI lists him as diseased, so I guess they got him.

Oh, no, see... if I was in charge, everyone would be required to have firearm safety training and subsequently required to own a firearm... except anti-gun folks like you. For you, it would be forbidden. Anyone that freaked out by an inanimate object is obviously far too mentally unstable to be permitted to own a firearm.

...because that would make it easier for you gunlubbers to execute us. Wow, you've revealed the [not-at-all-]Secret Agenda!

You can't require everyone to own a firearm, because then you'd get brokedick fuckers expecting the taxpayers to buy it for them.

And I'll not submit for training, because that implies some kind of certification that can be revoked at the whims of the benevolent overlords, leaving me suddenly unable to own my own stuff without breaking the law.

No, this plan has been poorly thought out.

Wasn't there a town in Georgia that required its citizens to own firearms? How'd that work out?

    That's Step 2, Josef.

On a scale of 1 to 5, how close would you say you are to a heart attack and/or stroke at this moment? :tasvir:

Kennesaw, a couple decades ago. There's an opt-out clause for conscientious objectors.
Initial reports were that violent crime all but dissappeared overnight.
Last I heard Kennesaw had almost no crime.

Not as close as you. BP's 122/68; TC's in the 180s; CRP's within normal limits.

    Why?

So just checking, but this doesn't matter as much as Bengazzi, right?

Because it's only 12 dead bodies, not 4.

HA! Really? I come on base with a giant tube that looks like a rocket launcher. It houses my longbow. I assumed coming on base with a rocket launcher would entail me proving it's just a bow. So far none of the gate guards have even asked about it. BTW base security never looks on your trunk. You could have a dozen automatic rifles in there, nobody would ever see them.

Here on Fort Gordon I know places where people's backyards are adjacent to roads that can bring them right on base where they won't even have to go through security. They will not be checked at all, by anyone. It's a cakewalk.

Thus the only way to nip a violent act in the bud is to allow everyone to pack weapon. Thus bad guys never know who might stop their violence. Thus "no weapons allowed" is a virtual blank check to anyone actually carrying weapons with bad intent. :jayzus:

I'd be right in assuming that the Naval Yard is staffed mainly by engineers and accountants, not Navy SEALS, right?

The Navy Yard is also the East Coast and organizational HQ for NCIS and other operations. Also, to even take a car onto the base, you have to be a Very Important Person, or there's no place for you to park inside the security perimeter.
